“Very good meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Great appetizers and all dinners were fantastic. They treated us very well and our party of six were very satisfied with the personal service. This is a very good value for he waterfront.

“Nice Little Italian Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Ate here almost every night during our 1 week stay in Porto October 2012. Prawns were lucious and plump for a starter as was the Chorizo which was flamed tableside. Loved the squid ink pasta with prawns. My husband would have pizza and enjoyed it, did not experience anything that was "weird" in taste. He also ate the Francesinha and liked it as well a very filling meal. We cannot agree with the March review unless something happened between October and March. Enjoyed the friendly staff got on first name basis with Reuban the waiter. Chef was always cooking good meals for us and Reuban would recommend good wines for our dinner. The staff and chef also are associated with the restuarant next door Bacalhoeiro - same owner. So if you like Bacalhoeiro you should also like Basilico. We love Portuguese food so why did we eat at the Italian place? Because the staff were friendly, well-trained, knew their food and wine. The menu is not strictly Italian there are lots of Portuguese cooked food like the cod, Francesinha, prawns, wine, port, brandy, etc. What we did find weird was the upside down furniture on the ceiling and walls, different decor and the music was different - Nancy Sintra!

“Not recommendable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Foods I can judge:
The pizza was terrible with a "weird" taste and almost no tomato sauce

Foods I really can't judge:
The francesinha was also terrible, but I wouldn't know since after this experience I never dared to have one elsewhere.
