“Such a perfect place...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

We loved our stay at Rosa. As it was our wedding aniversary we had a personalized and very romantic dinner under their beautifful skyglass. The service was excelent!! And the food was five stars. Had a great time talking to the owners and planning the day after. Afterwards we went to our wonderfull room and relaxed in the bathtub listening to some jazz and enjoying a drink. Slept in heaven as the beds are magnificient. The day after we felt realy relaxed and had a great breakfeast. It is a perfect place :)

My couple and I were in Porto a couple of days in Easter. We booked at Rosa et Al Townhouse which close to uptown (very short distance walking). I have been in many many hotels in my life; since I finished my studies at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne I visited many hospitality business for my job; I have never been in such special place in my life. Service is unbeatable, decoration is amazing, hosts know how to treat guests incredibly; food is homemade with flavours that carry you out directly to your childhood. Rooms are huge and comfortable, true stylish! It is a pity not to count on more hotels like this in more cities.

Everything from the room to the service to the location to the brunch was excellent. This hotel made our trip in Porto an unforgettable experience. We will definetly suggest it to anybody who is coming to Porto. The design of the rooms and common space is absolutely stunning. Food is gorgeous to watch and taste.

Myself and my friend stayed here for two nights and it was exceptional. A real treat. Beautiful townhouse owned and managed by a delightful sister and brother team. The rooms are gorgeous and the food is exceptional. It may seem more expensive than some hotels but its not when you factor in the quality of accommodation and the breakfasts. The quality if what they offer is unbelievable.
Gorgeous cafe by day too and if you are travelling alone this would also be ideal as you will meet interesting fellow travellers.
The owners are friendly and by staying here, you are directly supporting a family business and the restoration of a townhouse in Porto.great location. This is one of those places you will remember and in large part cause of the fantastic owners...check out the gorgeous garden too. This s a considered , thoughtful place that already has me hooked.

Room Tip: They are all fantastic and unique

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by Rosa Et Al's hospitality. One of the owners - two siblings - are always around to help answer questions, welcome you to your room or chat about Porto. The building itself is beautifully redone and gives you the chance to stay in a traditional Porto townhouse but with great amenities. The rooms are beautiful, large and full of light and some look onto the small garden in the back. The brunch was the best - delicious, high quality and filled with local, organic food. The location is great - just a short walk from some of the best restaurants and bar areas. And throughout, we were so impressed by the level of attention and care that went into everything.

In short, it's a wonderful, romantic place to stay in a great location with wonderful hosts!

We stayed in Rosa et al for 3 nights and were more than happy with our choice. The townhouse opened only 3 months ago but delivered us a service as if they had done this for years.
Our room was beautifully decorated with original furniture from the 60's. Every detail was looked after. The personal touch make the difference at this address. When walking in the door, you are greeted by the hosts with a big smile and you feel at home right away. Cosy music, nice design... and best of all, late breakfast! Brunch until 12. When I go on holidays, I want to be free. No need to get up at 8 here to make it to breakfast. Served on the terrace if the weather is nice, fresh juice and a large choice of eggs and other...
At the end of our stay we needed to see a doctor and they took care of the hospital (We are not yet fluent in Portugees!)
Rosa et al is located in the hip neighborhood of Porto, with young designers, fashion and deco stores and at walking distance from all you want to see or buy in Porto.
I will definitely be back!

Thank you to the hosts,

Catharina and Brieuc from Brussels

If you appreciate beautiful architecture, love art and people who think outside the box then Rosa et al Townhouse is the place to stay. The "House" is charming, very interesting and comfortable with a bit of quirkiness thrown in. Situated in the art section of Porto, this architecturally stunning, restored old townhouse is perfect from beginning to end. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the linens and bedding are as soft as marshmallows and the food interesting and nicely presented. The brother and sister owners are enormously talented. As a boutique hotel, this is one of the most creative places I have ever stayed. Patricia and Emanuel have lovingly breathed life back into an abandoned old townhouse in an unbelievably imaginative way. The cooking classes, themed-dinner events, rotating wine selections and art exhibits within the townhouse are part of their dream for their "new concept" house. It works, it's great, it's a place worth experiencing when in Porto.
