“Good, not excelent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Well located hotel, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Good price for meals and very good breakfast. For a supposed four stars hotel it should offer some other ammenities like a sauna or a gym room. Nevertheless it is a good option in Porto.

Facilities are decent. Rooftop pool is marred by their insistence on playing loud music of their choice. Outside, the junkies are a pain - loud and aggressive. Not moved on and hence harass guests. Not on, I'm afraid.

Great staff, good offer on breakfast, confy bed, good size of the room and nice location - near to malls and downtown. The parking lot is too small, and you have to pay for it. Anyway, nothing special, but it's ok.

We stayed at this hotel for a short weekend get-away and to visit the University of Porto's Science Department. The University is close by - just a 5-7 minute walk. The hotel staff, especially at Reception, were outstanding on all levels. We were always met with a smile and they are very informative in all things Porto. Our room had 2 separate bedrooms- a king size bed for us and two twin beds perfect to accommodate our teen daughters. The breakfast assortment was truly delicious and the kitchen staff are very attentive always topping up the platters.

CON - The only negative was the hair drying unit in the bathroom. It's a little outdated and takes forever to dry your hair!

Room Tip: Higher floors have great views

I went here for a symposium, stayed for 2 night. The place is decent, reasonable room and good service, but it has no charm. It is located a bit away from the old center (about 30 min walk) and from the river (15 min). The neighbourhood is not great, it looks rather run down although it feels quite safe. The hotel reminded me a bit of a russian communist hotel in Novgorod, decent but rather basic. The food at the bar is actually quite reasonable but nothing too fancy (prices were quite low, leaving it a very good value for money). Personnel is professional and very helpful.

For business it serves a good purpose; taxis are cheap so it does not matter being a bit off the center. Working in the room is doable, with mains outlets by the bed en on the side of the desk. Wifi worked well enough for me. If you go for pleasure I imagined there are more charming places that let you taste more of portuguese culture and hospitality

Room Tip: Get a high floor to get anything of a view

This was a conference venue hotel and a very nice hotel for such a purpose. I stayed here for 6 days. It is located a little out of the historic central part of Porto, perhaps a 10 minute taxi ride. It is a modern and clean facility, and functioned well for the small conference that I was attending. Staff were very courteous and went out of their way to be helpful. Then entrance lobby is very large, with pleasant seating areas, a large bar area and several shops. My room was on the 12th floor with a very nice panorama across the city and to the entrance to the river from the sea. The room was comfortably furnished, and cleaned each day. It was restful and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were spacious, providing bidet and bathtub. Internet was provided free of charge, and was available throughout the conference rooms. Access in the rooms varied, and was not consistent nor strong at times. The restaurant provided buffet meals, and there was an enormous selection of hot and cold foods, breads, pastries and drinks at all times. Taxis were easy to get, and relatively cheap. Down the hill from the hotel, a 10 minute walk was a large supermarket providing everything you might need for a longer stay, and a a convenience store and ATM a few minutes walk outside of the hotel. Certainly try to enjoy the many cafes and restaurants along the river bank in the historic center. It is a wonderful place. My favourite café was the one located on the pylon of the old bridge, with wonderful views down to the old city.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor
