I stayed at the Wine Hostel for 4 nights and had a comfortable time. The building exudes charm, and the winding staircases to the upper floors, while exercise, is fun and worth it. The staff were extremely helpful. Anytime I asked a basic question, they went above and beyond in making sure I had everything I needed to enjoy Porto. Best hostel staff I've come across in my years of traveling.

The only things I thought could have been better were the breakfast-- simple selection of breads, cheeses, fruits, filter coffee, and juices-- for 2.50 EUR. Maybe having an espresso machine available all day would be a nice investment. Also, when people go out to smoke on the balcony, could they close the door behind them? Often smoke wafted into the common room, and would flow upstairs. I was battling a cold so it really bothered me. My bed (in the Pink Room) seemed to have a dent in the middle, so I'd roll in a bit when sleeping, but it didn't bother me too much.

Other than that, this is a great location, a beautiful building, very clean, with a smiling, friendly, helpful staff. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. It was hard to say goodbye!

Room tip: I enjoyed the Pink room. It's on the very top, but it's quiet and has it's own wash basin.

The hostel is really beautiful, the decoration is not modern but it got what it takes. Location isn't that bad, there's so bars and restaurants near by which is perfect. But the floor and the doors are a little bit old, i think, because it always makes some noise when people walk or open the door. It was a little bit annoying. But in general, it's not bad.

It's a very nice location near the university and about 5 mins to the centre of the city. They have a very cozy lounge with a small balcony and a nice view to the opposite park called "Jardim da Cordoaira".
