Excellent hotel to stay at. Well located for the port houses and close to a metro station. Room was very clean and the staff helpful in arranging taxis and gave great service in posting belongings left behind at the hotel. Well recommended.

The Quality Inn Hotel on Praca de Batalha is perfect for anyone wanting to stay in the city centre of Porto and within easy walking distance of everything including the train station, the Ribeira (bridges, restaurants, port wine cellars, colour!) and Rua Catarina, the main shopping street.
My husband and our daughter stayed here in June 2006 and found it great value, very clean and the staff very helpful. We had a lovely view from our window and all in all i couldn't fault it!
This is a reasonably priced well located hotel in the centre of Porto. Most places are in easy walking distance. The room we had was fine, overlooking the square, and with double glazing noise was not a problem.
The inclusive breakfast was fine and the reception staff were efficient and helpful (recommending a good local restaurant when we arrived late evening)
Definitely worth a look if you are staying a few days in Porto and want somewhere central.

I stayed here for a week in August and as I travelled alone I chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the city centre. I chose well! Turn left out of the hotel and your are there.
I booked the hotel through a Portuguese travel agent, well my Portuguese boyfriend did! When checking in, the chap on reception seemed more concerend about the booking fee that appeared to have not been paid and made me wait but besides that the staff were helpful and friendly. My room was spacious, with a balcony, a big double bed, air conditioning although this was not overly effective. The breakfast was simple but adequate The local cuisine is excellent with lots of fish dishes.
I walked for miles to explore and always felt very safe. A definite place to visit is Vila Nova de Gaia where the Porto wine is blended...so leave room in the suitcase!

The hotel is perfectly located close to the cable train which can take you to the rivershore (or alternatively up the hill back to the hotel after a long day of walking). The rooms are clean and spacious and provide good quality, especially compared to the fair price. The only downside that we could think of was the breakfast area - this is a sort of basement type area, without any windows and only has tl-type lights. Not a cosy start of the day. But this can easily be solved by having breakfast in the city.
