“Location & value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

Stayed 4 nights in July 2014. Easy access from airport using the metro and exiting at Bolhao station (30mins & 1.85€ plus 0.50 for rechargeable ticket), then 5-10 min walk downhill along rua santa catarina to the hotel. As previous posters have commented this hotel is very central - hop on/off bus, trams and buses stop outside. easy walk to the funicular and great views of river whilst travelling up (2€ per trip) - walk down is ok but NOT up!. Hotel clean, reasonably sized room overlooking Batalha square (311) with twin beds and a small sofa, air con worked, tea & coffee facilities (although we did not use) and bathroom with bath & shower over. Free wifi in room. No fridge in room but area downstairs with ice machine and drinks/snacks available from machines. Breakfast ok - hot & cold items and fruit, although the bacon was not replaced on 2 of the 4 days. Good restaurants nearby and special mention for the Magestic Cafe. We will stay here again when next in Porto.

A typical Quality Inn hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
The rooms are quite basic, but that is what you pay for.
There was double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, great shower and free Wifi.
The buffet breakfast was ample but not over board.
The hotel location was a bonus as all the sites were within easy walking distance without having to rely on the metro or hop on hop off bus.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay

The hotel is situated in the centre of Porto, about 20 min by taxi from the airport. The room was big, clean and cosy, equipped with all necessary things, even an electric tea-pot with tea and coffee, and had a nice city view. I can also hear seagulls' cry.
To turn on the light in the room you have to put a card (key) in the slot when you enter the room.
I had some difficulties with my key (was not programmed correctly, the key was electronic), but the problem was resolved in 1 minute, they just reprogrammed the key. The rest was excellent.
The breakfast was very good, there were lots of food to choose.

A basic, clean and comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Located in walking distance of Sao Bento train and metro stations plus it's on the tram 22 line. The hotel is situated in a quiet but slightly run down area of Porto. However, it's in a prime location if you want to be near the Cathedral, the Majestic cafe or the main shopping street known as Santa Catarina. It is also near the Rede Express coach station if you want to go on day trips to places such as Coimbra.

This hotel is fairly conveniently located in downtown Porto. It is within walking distance to the river, restaurants and shops. Some of the staff spoke English and were helpful, but this hotel seems to accommodate a lot of large tour groups. Not only were these large groups noisy, they filled up the small lobby and consumed the attention of the front desk. The room was not large, but clean. My greatest complaint was that the bed had a very hard mattress - not a good for your back firm, but a feels like your sleeping on the floor with covers on it hard. Breakfast was included and offered a variety of different foods.

Totally satisfied with the Hotel. Friendly helpful and attentive service. Room was spacious, spotless, TV, coffee/tea, good WIFI, excellent water pressure in the shower, even had a settee. The buffet breakfast was good, plus good location for the old Town. Free apples downstairs. What else can one say. We booked online, not direct and had a really great price as well. Could not recommend it more highly. It would seem the Portuguese system is to record full passport details. Expect a little time for that to happen at check in.

Have just returned from a few days in Porto and would agree with many, this hotel is a good base to explore the city from with the city tour buses stopping right outside in the square, the square is however very run down with closed business and street sleepers gathering there at night, these people gather on the other side of the square from the hotel so do not directly affect it.

The Hotel is a basic business style hotel with excellent staff on the front desk, happy to help and advise, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped my single room was small but had all I needed for a few days away

Breakfast is served until fairly late - so there is no mad rush to the buffet in the mornings - the food was fairly good and the selection ample

Over all the hotel more the does the job for a short visit to Porto.
