Very close to city centre - 5-10 mins walk from Sao Bento railway station. Room perfect - not the largest - but very adequate. Extremely clean. My room was at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The area at this time had no noise in the surrounding area of any description. The bath toilet shower bidet area was superbly clean and the room was kept in the highest order during my 3 night stay. Tea & coffee facilities provided in the room.
Breakfast was more than the usual bread cheese meats coffee cereal as there was unusually in my experience eggs scrambled and boiled, bacon and susage for those who like early morning fats!!. Unlimited and well presented in a very clean neat tidy and bright basement room served from 06:30 which is really good when early starts as in my case are required.
Cant fault at all and staff were excellent and friendly.
Will be staying again - The rate i got was very good from a comparison site.
The construction of the tramway at the front of the hotel is complete.

Make sure you get very good directions to this hotel. Porto is a tough city to navigate. And if possible, lose your rental car before you come into the city. But otherwise, be prepared for an excellent hotel at a great price right in the heart of a terrific city.

The hotel is clean, quiet and nice, in a nice square just up from the most popular shopping-dining-being strip in town. Subway is handy from here, too. Walking to the riverfront is also easy, though hiking back up is quite a haul if you've had too many glasses of port....

Stayed here in a triple room over the October half term. One thing you can say about this hotel is the location is ideal. Right at the bottom of the Via Catarina , the main shopping street in Porto , or a 3 mion walk down to the finicular which takes you down to the Ribera with its bars and boats.
Room was clean with a view over the square outside, with opening windows. Two large single beds made up our double , with a large sofacouch as the third bed. Cleaned totally each morning with a good supply of clean towels. Breakfast was a mix of cereals , fruit with scrambled eggs, bacon and hot dog sausages -but no tomato ketchup! Small bar, bit impersonal , but a cafe bar right next door and a fairly good bar/grill a minute across the square. Tea making facilities in the room.
Buses, cable car and even the tour bus stop 30 yeard from front door. Guess it could get a bit noisy, altough we were on the third floor so no problems for us.
2 lifts , bit small but serviceable. Reception staff spoke perfect English. Would definately recomend.

Stayed in Quality Inn in Porto for 6 nights. We booked room over the internet for 55eur/night which was good deal for us as we are rather budget travellers. On the arrival day we took the metro from the airport and got out on Bolhao station which is 5-10 mins walk from the hotel. We arrived pretty early but there was no problem with leaving our luggage in reception till check-in time. We got a nice, average sized double room on 5th floor. The room was equipped with sat tv, air-conditioning and coffee&tea making facilities. Bathroom was clean with fresh towels and toiletries every day and powerful shower. We loved the breakfasts, with large choice of bread, fruits, cereals, jams, ham, eggs, juices etc. The hotel staff was ok, although it seemed that most of them don't speak english.
Another good thing is the location of the hotel in central but quiet enough area and very convenient for tourists with walking distance to the riverside, railway station and shopping area.
It's perfect place to stay if you prefer to spend your money for the port wine, delicious fruits or Douro cruise rather than very posh hotel. We loved it and definitely will go to Portugal again.
