Owner description: Portofreetour guides are not professional tour guides but enthusiastic, friendly individuals with knowledge of Porto who will accompany you on a visit of the city, take advantage of their passion and discover hidden, unusual places off the tourist trail.Together we designed a few "caminhos" through our city, giving you a glimpse of what Invicta's all about. Zigzagging between past, present and potential futures, we try to give an insight into our hometown that will enable you to understand and enjoy it evermore. Our visits are simple and friendly : we try to limit our tours to 6 people maximum, so you can get to sightsee without the crowd, we also like to have a small break (Porto's hilly), to chill out and chat, no rush we're in Portugal. Average tour duration : 2h or 3hTime : 10/11am or 2/3pm PLEASE BOOK TILL 10PM OF THE DAY BEFORE THE TOUR

“Poor guide with little in depth knowledge ...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Disappointed by this tour, very poor quality relative to free walking tours I've done in other cities. While these tours are free, I have been on several tours also run on a 'tips only' basis in other cities (e.g. Berlin, Madrid) which have been far superior. Our guide had little in depth knowledge of Porto and was unable to answer in depth questions we had about the history of the city. We were led around the backstreets of Porto for most of the 2 hour trip (nice to see but we would have also appreciated seeing some of the more central tourist attractions). We could have done this tour ourselves, saving the tip and making better use of our limited time in Porto. Not impressed....

“Fantastic Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We meet our tour guide Catarina and we were guided through the streets, alleys and historic buildings of Porto by a local.. It is a win-win for everyone.. There was only 4 of us and it was so personal. She stopped at a very small cafe and ordered for us the local favorite Salted fish cod and small meat filled pies.. I just know it was all wonderul and she told us the history and local stories.. I want to come back to Porto, i would just love getting lost in your big,but small city.

“Extremely good value!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Most of us can find the usual tourist spots with little bother but hidden public gardens and community allotments, unusual views of the city and more city secrets than you can take in need a special kind of guide. Fortunate that we had Catarina to share her inside info with us then. She talked about what she's really interested in, took us to her favourite parts of the city and with this shared a real passion for the city. Totally recommend you go on one of these tours. Also got a great follow up email with more things recommended to do and see. Good stuff!

Our tour guide Catarina is very passionate about Porto and very knowledgeable of its history and architecture. We learnt a great deal about the city and thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour. Would recommend it to anyone!

“Andre made our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Not only did we see great sites, beautiful gardens and learn about Porto's history during our afternoon with him, but he gave us so many great pieces of advice for the rest of our time there. He literally sat down with us and marked on my map all of the best bars/clubs, restaurants, museums and wine cellars. He explained the must-dos, what to order and how to coordinate everything. We ended up taking almost all of his tips and were never disappointed and felt like we really got to know the city. I would definitely recommend doing this tour during your first day in Porto, so you fully take advantage of all the advice you'll get.
