“Perfectly located hotel.. Very convenient for tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

Hotel is very centrally located.. Walking distance from Main Street and other tourist places..

Travellers should be careful of their baggage as sometimes beggars just walk in the lobby as there is no security guard at the entrance...

Stayed one night whilst visiting the city of Porto. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and high quality. Rooms were clean but quite small but this wasn't a big deal, bed was a little firm but I slept well. Found an old teabag in the kettle (?!) whilst I was boiling water for a coffee, thanks to a previous occupant I am guessing.

Unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to stop here as they DO NOT TAKE DOGS. That may be a bonus to some travellers but for us who had a dog it wasn't. I would say it is not very easy to get to this hotel by car, There is no parking outside the hotel or at the hotel itself.

This hotel is located very centrally in Porto. It has great service, located 200m from the metro station San Bemto and has a busstop in front of the hotel. The service in the hotel is great, staff speaks very well English and helps you with all questions you may have. Breakfast is nice and has a lot of variety, including local specialties. And by taxi from and to the airport, you can take the taxi shuttle (€6,- p.p.) or an individual taxi (€25,-).

Shopping street is only 5-10 min walking away from tne hotel, restaurants are also nearby. Even the river Douro can be found on walking distance ( walking is downhill, so better take a taxi uphill, €4,-).

Rooms are clean and have enough space, we have booked the triple room, which was even more spacious than the double room. Beds seem hard, but provide very comfortable sleep, so all in all: I would definately come back here.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room if you like to be in a non-smoking room :)

We booked this hotel in preference to the Porto Grande because they only had a economic room left and we didn't want a tiny room . It cost 40 euros more and then we discovered it didn't include breakfast either which was another 44 euros for two nights The joke was on us as we were given probably the smallest room in the hotel and certainly the smallest room we have ever stayed in.

The bathroom had no ventilation and took hours to clear so you left the room as sweaty as you went in and couldn't see in the mirrors because of steam. The toilet was shoehorned in and difficult to access without banging your arms on the toilet paper holders. The toilet was also very close to the bed so hubby used the facilities in the hotel as it was all just a bit to intimate.

The room was supposed to be a twin but the beds were pushed together and there would not have been much room to separate them if needed. The bed was on the hard side as were the pillows.

The mini bar still had half finished drinks in it from the previous occupants and the hotel mini bar contents did not reflect the inventory eg there were two choc bars when the inventory said one - consequently we didn't touch anything just in case.

The air con was noisy and we had to keep it on full to keep the room vaguely cool. The carpets were dirty with stains on and toiletries limited ( no body lotion etc ) All in all not a four star experience and quite the worse hotel we stayed in during our whole stay in Portugal.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for two nights. It's a typical business hotel, clean, accessible, & quiet. We had a two room suite. It was very spacious. I would recommend getting the breakfast included it's a very substantial buffet. They have typical Portuguese breakfast items. if you are driving here it can be a bit frustrating , or at least it was with my navigation. it's tucked away on a corner off the square. The bar serves up quality drinks for a reasonable price too. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Porto.

Room Tip: I'd recommend getting a room that is not on the square. As I had one facing the backside and I c...
