We had read recommendations about this restaurant in Chowhound and had asked the staff. Everyone we asked in the hotel spoke highly of the food. It was our last meal in Porto and we were not disappointed! It has been family run for about 100 years and the owner welcomes you, his father's picture is on the wall right along humorous naming of the areas, the daughter is in the kitchen, and the grandson is tending the bar. We were advised to go by cab since it is in the Campahna area and it would be a bit of a walk from our hotel and not in the evening. Cab ride was short and not expensive. The food was delicious! We started with a chilled white port as an apperitiv then had a bottle of wine from the Douro region. Our dinner consisted of caldo verde, delicious crunchy bread, fish, and the softest melt in your mouth Octopus filet ever, it was memorable!
