“Readers paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

As you walk along this cobbled street, you come across an ordinary doorway, as you step inside you feel like you have been transported into this wonderful world of books!! Any genre, for any age group and every interest you can possibly think of! Thousands of titles, all displayed by cover! Seriously no easy feat!
Be prepared to spend a ludicrous amount of time here, you will lose track of time, not only because of the collections but the architecture and history of the building.

“You want books? look no further!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Just off the Municipal square you will find this old bookshop. Really "bookshop" does not do it credit. On three floors with thousands of titles in many languages, rare editions, first editions, in modern parlance, a megastore is more like it! Very helpful staff will help you browse, or leave you to wander around alone. A little help is advisable. They have a web site and, despite the shelves and shelves of books and magazines, quite organised !

Give it a look, you won´t be disappointed! Don´t go in hungry, you could be a while!!

“Books galore”

Even if you do not understand Portuguese, this bookshop is worth a visit just for the enormity of it and the building is an old small palace, ceilings are beautiful.
