“Beautiful Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

This hotel proved to be the perfect idyll for our two week Honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, greeted with fruit and Champagne, to the moment we left we were delighted.
The staff are one of the greatest assets of this small Hotel, being the most polite, helpful and professional people.
Set in beautiful gardens in a quite peaceful location just out of the centre of Funchal. We used the restaurant frequently, serving excellent food, and also a lovely clean and well serviced pool.
The full body massage is also to be recommended!

Room Tip: The Garden rooms have patio doors opening onto a large lawn and beautiful gardens.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from the west coast of Madeira. The hotel was in a lovely green setting for the centre of Funchal and found the hotel to be away from some of the more mainstream hotels which we were glad not to be near.

The gardens were lovely, room was excellent and the pool a good size. Breakfast had plenty of choice and excellent fresh food. Dinner was also superb, albeit a little expensive.

Would definitely recommend to others, but do not choose if you like to have conversations with other people staying here, as we found other holidaymakers not to be as friendly

Have just returned from our 1st visit to Funchal and the Quinta Casa Branca and it wont be our last. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. The hotel is stunning, the staff are friendly, welcoming and very efficient. The rooms are a great size with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The hotel is small and intimate and a world away from the large hotels on the seafront. The gardens are really special and the team of gardeners do a fantastic job, constantly cleaning, pruning and trimming. The staff are so friendly and professional, from the reception staff, housekeeping, waiters, gardeners to the owners who were polite and pleasant. We went on half board and the food was amazing, something different every night, happy hour was perfect after a long day sightseeing. The hotel is about 25 min walk into Funchal and the bus stop is just outside and the taxis are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to the Casa Branca and cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Room Tip: the garden room was more than big enough with tea/coffee making facilities and sun loungers outside...

Like Robin and June, with whom we shared some chestnut cake and coffee in the beautiful Nun's valley, this was our first visit to Madeira. The hotel was first class in all respects; in particular, we would highlight the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Of our 14 nights we had half board for seven which worked extremely well given days out etc and the food was of a very high standard. Moreover, the menus and presentation were extremely imaginative.

The location is most convenient with a 25 min walk to town and is readily accessible by bus. The gardens are a haven and the swimming pool a lovely shrub enclosed sun trap.

In sum, an excellent stay which we would recommend to all.

Room Tip: The choice is a ground floor garden room with a sun bed or a larger room with chairs and balcony ope...

Have just returned from our fourth visit to this beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always remember us from previous visits. It is situated in wonderful gardens, the restaurant serves delicious food and there is a general air of peacefulness and tranquility. It is a small hotel which we much prefer to the larger ones on the seafront. This is the only hotel we have stayed at more than once, it is a place one always wishes to return to.

Room Tip: Standard rooms open straight into the garden. Premier rooms on the ground floor also open into the...

My wife and I have just come back from our first visit to Madeira. Before we went we became unsure about the Quinta Casa Branca because of some of the negative comments we had read on Tripadvisor reviews.
We were also unsure about its location and wished we had booked a seafront Hotel instead. Well I can honestly say we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were good, nothing was too much trouble, the room was good, the restaurant food was excellent although I would agree a little expensive and the location is perfect. After a full day touring around it was perfect to come back to this peaceful haven and relax. The negative reviews do not represent the Hotel we have just stayed in. The reception even charged my ipad when we went out for dinner having forgotten my charger. Nothing was a problem.

This was our 3th visit at this marvellous hotel!!! And it won't be our last...
The Staff, rooms, gardens, swimmingpool, architecture of the hotel,.... everything is unbelievable...
It's not to far from the center of Funchal (+/- 20 min. walk) and the Lido is also very nearby.
Lot's of nice restaurants and pubs are also in the neighbourhood!
The hotel itself is a place of tranquility and peace.
But what makes this hotel really special is the Staff!
They're really the best! Thanks for the service during our stay...
See you next time!
