“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Just returned from 1 week in Vidamar and had a nice holiday. The overall rating for the hotel was very good, but with a few simple changes it could be excellent.

The rooms we big and clean (with 2 double beds) but you are asked to upgrade on arrival (which we didnt do) the food in the buffet was generally good, 1 meal at Mamma Mia was good and the ocean restuarant was excellent.

The staff were consistantly helpful and happy and spoke excellent english (as did most of the island). We used the spa which was great and had a massage which was very good and totally empty.

With a few simple changes this could be a excellent hotel - why do you have free sparkling wine at breakfast, when the coffee and orange juice is very poor ?

I would recommend the hotel though

The hotel decor was minimalistic but stylish. Staff were very professional and friendly. The room had great views. It was well equipped and had a huge double bed! The balcony could have benefitted from more comfortable chairs. We were half board and the buffet dinner was good quality and varied. Whilst breakfast was also very good we would agree with previous comments about fruit juice and coffee. Our overall view was it was good enough and we would definitely go again!

Been to this hotel several times now w a new name. The staff was the most friendly & helpful. We were lucky to be sunbathing at Christmas w temperatures round 24c. Great rooms, superb unique sea view, it felt like I was on a cruise ship. I will definitely stay here again, very modern minimalistic great ocean pools. Super, obrigado.

A ducky hotel that wants to be a Swan. Plastic sofa in lobby, water damaged bathroom door, old tetra-packs under the bed, lack of fresh flowers/indoor plants in the island of flowers, cold looking conference hotel that look like a posh morgue. Service is okay. Question to ponder: 1 bottle water for 7 days of stay?! How cheap that could be for a resort? As a seasoned traveller that stayed from 0 to 5 stars hotels around the globe - I would rate this as a "wanna be but will never be" resort.

This hotel is well situated, about 20-30 minutes walk from the center, and many public buses, with many restaurants around. The rooms are large, with a balcony, very clean, and perfectly cleaned and done everyday. The view on the garden and the sea is nice, as well as the hotel surroundings. the staff is kind, smiling, and helpful. the breakfast is standard for this kind of hotel, but nothing missing, and all the food fresh and good quality. But some points are disappointing. The WiFi in the room is very expensive. there is free WiFi in the lobby and close to the bar, but you cannot be permanently connected to Twitter or Facebook. The price of restaurants is not visible outside (or very well hidden as I could not find it), which is not acceptable for me, I want to know at least the range of price when, I enter a restaurant. The spa has to be pauid on top of the room, 17 € every time. And in the room some noise coming from the nearby bathrooms (showers)

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor. At checking, they proposed a higher floor for 10€ per day but we d...
