We went to Restauran A Bica after visiting Tourist info in Funchal, and lady who worked there suggested that place with local food. Wi found it very easy, it is close to the Mercado des lavradores, enter in restaurant is downstairs (so, no terace with nice view)...but everything else is very good, the waiters are so polite, symphatic, try to help and explain tipe of food and wine, here we first time eat 'espada' fish, interior is very nice...so, I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner if you want to enjoy in your meal

In a short trip to Madeira went there twice for dinner. The first time because of the raving reviews on tripadvisor. The second time, because we enjoyed the first time so much. We particularly recommend the Pepper Steak and home made ice-cream. The service was very friendly. It represents good value for money.
