Thanks to Tripadvisor we found this absolute gem of the finest Indian cuisine possible. It is not on the main road but at the top of a steep road opposite Granny's House on the main road which runs parallel with the Lido but it is clearly visible when you look up the road. We arrived early (as we always do) and the Owner was busy tidying up behind the bar. He had his back to the bar so apologised for not seeing us and greeted us with the most amazing smile. He talked us through the menu and because we could not decide on a choice he chose for us. Our starters and dipping sauces (can't remember exactly what we had) were delicious. For mains I had scabbard fish (a first for me) in a fantastic tasty sauce and my Husband chose chicken which had been cooked on a skewer then put into sauce. We shared the two main courses. The fish was so tender and moist and the chicken was tasty, tender and very juicy. We didn't have a dessert but the dessert menu was very different. The Owner chatted to us for quite a long time about different spices and his methods of cooking our meal. His staff were smartly dressed, efficient, courteous and very friendly. Obviously well trained. The decor was very pleasing and spotlessly clean. I hope you will enjoy your meal as much as we did and we are looking forward to returning to Sabor da India. This restaurant is rated as no. 5 but in my opinion should be further up the ratings, at least no. 2.
