“Tripadvisor triumphs again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Good job I checked on Tripadvisor before our day out to Sintra, or we could have missed this place. It's magical, worth the money, unique, fun, stunning etc. Kids would love it too, but us Ladies Who Lunch were absolutely enchanted by it.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

An easy walk from the historic centre of Sintra is the beautiful Quinta da Regaleira. This grand building and beautiful gardens were full of interesting features. We easily spent three hours wandering happily. It was less crowded than Pena Palace but equally worthwhile.

“Very Cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Huge place. I feel like I could've spent a whole day there (but I had to visit the 3 main Sintra palaces that day which is doable but tiring). The architecture of the house is impressive and the caves, grottos, and pathways are entertaining for people of al ages. Recommend it.

“Do not leave Sintra without visiting Quinta da Regaleira”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Such a beautiful and unusual garden with its underground walkways and grottos. The legends that go with only adds to its mystique. We had a lot of fun exploring and it was easily my favourite stop in Sintra. There's also a lovely cafe on the grounds, not so much for the food but the set up, pleasant place to stop for a drink.

Tip: it will be handy to carry a torch with you for when you're exploring underground

“Interesting place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

I was totally surprised with the Quinta da Regaleira. It is a very interesting and quite instigative place, specially the garden. There are connected tunnels under the ground, statues, lakes, animals and a lot of plants. You can spend a whole afternoon there, exploring the garden area. The small palace is also very interesting.
