“Oh My Gosh-In a good way!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2011

Awesome place to stay!!!!! Rooms are basic, but who cares you're only sleeping in the room! Open the door to your balcony to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing! Watch the waves crash against the HUMONGOUS pool while you stare at all the beautiful locals on the beach and jumping off the diving board! Breakfast was awesome too! Lots to choose from! The staff was accommodating and there is parking. STAY HERE! Don't stay in Sintra...this is MUCH MUCH better! Make sure you check out their national parks and drive up to praia de Aguda and overlook the cliffs! BREATH-TAKING!!!!!!

Room Tip: They're all rooms with a view!

We found this place by accident while looking for another guesthouse and what a great find. The view alone is unbelievable and the beds were quite comfortable. The size of the pool is unreal - we spent a great afternoon laying in the sun. The ocean is pretty cold for swimming at 15°C so the option of the pool at 23°C was great. It was a lot of fun to sit and watch the surfers from the pool deck. The sounds of the waves made for the best sleep of our whole vacation. Breakfast was worth the extra little bit.

Highly recommend this hotel!

While there its worth taking a drive up in the mountains to the villages - there are some great places and wonderful people to meet.

Great room facing ocean. Ocean all the time. Great! Big pool. 2 minutes to the beach.
Unfortunately there is no free wi-fi in the room (one PC on the 1st floor).

If you´re traveling to Lisbon, don´t miss an opportunity to spend at least a day (and a night) by the ocean. I was traveling with a friend and spending a night right on the ocean shore was a priceless getaway from the adventures of Lisbon. The hotel is quite big, located right on the beach and has a huge pool. It can be reached from Sintra by a direct bus but it only runs once an hour. A taxi ride cost us 15 Euros. It was worth is as we arrived to the If hotel at 6pm and could catch some time at the pool which closes at 7pm! That´s a disadvantage.
All rooms face the ocean-superb! Rooms are convenient, but WiFi is paid. Lobby WiFi is sporadic-free at some point, but then it required payment. But it´s a good place to get away from the online world, if that´s what you want.
A couple of small restaurants along the beach provide a nice and cheaper alternative to the hotel´s (pricey) restaurant.
Staff very friendly. If you want to visit Cabo da Roca, makes sense to call a cab to the hotel. The ride will cost 10 euros but you wont have to wait for the bus and waste time.

I picked the hotel because my child loves swimming. The pool on the pics is actually that big. Water in the pool was about 25C. It was very windy this year. Which means that only very tough people were able to stay long in the pool. Pool closes early. Too early. And opena late in my opinion.
Ocean water was about +17C and waves were huge, noone was allowed to swim, even surfers seemed to have some problems or they were only beginners:))
Brekfast basic, no fresh fruit.
Room very dirty, fridge was stinky and leaky. Extrabed was like in the stinky coridor.
But you do not go to Arribas for that, you get there ocean view, huge pool and sandy, but cold ocean beach.
There is nothing around the hotel much if u do not have a car. But it's close to Sintra. Taxi is generally cheap in Portugal, so you can take a taxi and travelv around, if weather is bad or windy.
Generally i was not disappointed, becauase i knew were i went.

we stayed in this hotel on the way from lisbon to the north of portugal. i have chosen this hotel mainly because of its location right on the beach. the hotel itself is nothing partocularly special, a typical beach hotel, but all its rooms face the ocean and the hotel is built in a way that the ocean seems to be right in front of it. i have spent days sitting on my balcony just watching the waves. this is a beach which is better for surfing rather than swimming but a beautiful for long beach walks and watching sunsets. there is also a nice surfing bar in front of the beach where they serve wonderful fresh juices from all kinds of fruits imaginable and serve huge tuna sandwiches :) i loved the hotel for the location. it is perfect for those who love ocean and fancy falling to sleep or waking up to the sound of the waves.
