This was the first of three poussadas my husband and I visited in Portugal. The most cost effective way to stay at this small inns is to purchase a passport (which comes with a 20% discount on meals). Book your room in advance - space is limited.
There are a lot of stairs, but the hotel clerk was nice enough to help us carry our luggage to the third floor. The view from the patio is stunning - a fantastic ocean view. The restaurant is expensive, but the food is fantastic and specializes in regional cuisine and wines. The buffet breakfast is above average with hot and cold foods.
The room was furnished with twin beds, pushed together. The beds were stiff and the pillows flat - common in Portugal. The room was air conditioned and the bathroom was clean with good water pressure and hot water.
Setubal is not a very exciting place - a port town with no shopping or tourist sites.
