“Where to have a relaxing break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Booked for a short break, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms were a nice size, towells changed everyday, breakfast buffett could not be faulted. Choice of buffett or off the menu for evening meal, good selection of local wine. Spa treatments good value for money and the ,golf course was in excellent condition.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the 18th green

I loved to stay at this hotel and golf resort! It's an upper class hotel. I had one of the best dinners ever, I think I may never forget it. Many thanks to the cook! oh, and the wine was divine! Just like all portuguese wines are. The hotel is very quiet. Very clean. It's new and very well built. All the materials are of great quality. The pool is not that good, dispite of having a jacuzzi. Lovely views with all that grass of the golf course! One negative point, I agree with "Jay99" and the hotel is very difficult to find. Only possible due to gps. Overall, it is a GREAT hotel! For sure I'll recommend it!

We stayed here for three nights, hoping to use it as a base to tour the area - however, we struggled to find it, not sure where all the signs referred to by another contributor were situated, as we only ever found two very small signs on an unnumbered road,
The Google map provided on the hotel website showed it to be several miles away, on the other side of the motorway. This turned out to be indicative of the organisation of the place as a whole - with some tightening up of procedures, and some additional facilities, it could be SO much better!
Reception staff were (with one exception) pretty lackadaisical in their attitude - did what was necessary, but nothing more. For example, they didn't tell us that a code was required to access wifi, so we had to go back to reception (a good 5 minute walk from our room) to ask for code. Back in the room, we found that only one phone or iPad could use this at a time, so had to trail back to reception to ask for another code. Why not mention all this on check-in?

The kitchen area of the room was distinctly odd. Table and 4 chairs, fridge and two ring hotplate. However, only two cups, saucers, plates, cutlery, and NO pots or pans, so how were you going to cook anything on the hotplate?

On the plus side, the room was very big, bed comfortable, air con efficient. Very peaceful, and the rather under-used golf course nice to walk around at dusk, once golfers have left. Nothing much else to do on-site, other than some nice relaxation, so take plenty of books.
A pity that there is no real garden in which to sit, and that south-facing balconies have no canopies or umbrellas for shade, so too hot to use during the day, in full sun.

The restaurant was definitely the highlight of this hotel - in contrast to reception, staff in the restaurant were so friendly and efficient, dinner menu more than adequate, well-priced, and delicious. A wide choice of breakfast buffet, and everything was kept topped up and clean.
Thanks to all the restaurant staff for their efforts - maybe they could give some of the other staff some lessons?

A shame that someone doesn't take this place in hand, and really sort it out - with some effort, it could be really good!

Room Tip: First floor rooms have better views than ground floor. Rooms further from reception are quieter, but...

It is a very nice hotel, with huge grounds, definitely tailored at golf players. It has some reasonably priced restaurant and bar, and breakfast was nice as well. The best thing are rooms - spacious, comfortable, with terrace overlooking the hotel grounds.
The downside is, as was mentioned in other reviews, the location. It is in the middle of nowhere, and is a fair bit of drive from Lisbon. So bear this in mind when booking.

Nice place to spend a few days relaxing. Although it's in the middle of nowhere it has signs all over the place which make it easy to find. The rooms are big and confortable, like the common areas. The only drawback is the "spa" which has a really small swimming pool (only 1.30m deep), a broken sauna and an unavailable massage service, if you don't book it in advance. Overall a pleasent experience =)

Hi
Arrived for our one week stay play some golf and relax.Buffet Breakfast was dull and boring,Coffee out of one the machines was at best undrinkable, due to mainly the awful dried milk being used. The usual bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans were always cold regardless of time of visit.
Rooms were large with outstanding views over the 9th hole.Kitchenets were provided with some cutlery, new hot plate, extractor and sink with running water but no plates and pans or pots to cook in.
But the biggest gripe for me as a single handicap golfer was not to be able to play golf or hit shots on the range for a whole week, enquired several times at reception only to be told no golf club rental available on site.
Probably the only Golf resort and Spa i ever visited were no golf club rental was available.
Swimming pool very unattactive with spa bath in very bad state of disrepair.
Will not visit again.

The hotel is a bit outside Setubal, you can take a taxi ,but we had a car of our own, much better,
The room was very nice , with a view over the golf course, they had an excellent driving range
and a small golf shop,
The golf course was very enjoyable, not so difficult.
The swinmming pool is indoor, which was a disappontment.
The breakfast was served as a large buffet.
