Even after eating a fillet mignon at Marco Pierre White Grill, I can say that this is one is (by far) even better.
The restaurant itself is extremely cosy with a very unique environment and decoration. When you see the door closed, don't assume it's closed. You need to ring the bell - a way of making the experience more cosy and welcoming. The waiters are extremely nice, always trying to build a "personal" relationship with you.
Ask for a "trilogia de presuntos" (Ham Trilogy) for a starter and then go with the classic "Bife à Cafe de S. Bento" - the best steak in Lisbon according to Timeout Magazine. Make sure to ask the fillet steak (bife do lombo) and not the sirloin (bife da vazia) Tender, succulent and with an amazing cream sauce, the steak is only 23€ - expensive for portuguese standards but very cheap if you've ever tried to eat out a steak in London or Paris!
If you come for lunch time during the week, you will most likely see a lot of personalities such as politicians, writers, etc.
A truly unique experience :)
