Staying in the Fontana for a midweek break was a great experience!
Being a hotel manager myself, I know what to look for when booking and visiting a hotel.
I noticed this hotel online and decided to give it a try, the artists impressions looked really promising, even though there were no real pictures or reviews available at that time.
You could tell the hotel was only opened 1 or 2 weeks before my stay and not very busy yet, after all January is not high season in Lisbon.
The service of the crew was excellent, they really put effort in helping me and assisting me to get the best out of my stay.
Kindly assisting me with my luggage, holding doors, giving dining advice and even allowing me to park my car right infront of the hotel entrance.
The wifi was not yet up and running, but the apologetic staff offered me to use their private network without charge whenever I wanted!!
The room I booked (superior double, 5th floor) was stunning and even better than I expected.
Eye for detail, nice mirrors everywhere, seethrough black glass walls, black flatscreen tv, good lighting and great overall design!
The huge comfortable bed was a delight and I never heard any noise whatsoever, except from the rush hour traffic outside in the morning.
The bathroom was clean and equally stunning, lots of fresh towels everyday, a nice powerful shower and first class bathroom amenities.
I have to say I liked the partly see-through glass bathroom wall very much (view towards the room), but ofcourse this can be a problem for prudish people.
Inside the bathroom is an open toilet, however if you turn the bathroom door all the way inside, this perfectly serves as a toilet door; very cleverly done!
Attended the breakfast only once and quality and service was good, staff made sure there was nothing to ask for.
In general there was nothing I disliked about the hotel, futuristic design (hallways and public spaces!!), excellent quality, nice and clean rooms and very welcoming staff.
The location is also convenient, close to the airport and the old city center and the whole of Lisboa can be reached in a short subway ride.
It is situated in the business district so expect to do a little travelling to the landmarks and more picturesque parts of town.
I stayed in the hotel for a special "opening offer" rate and this was more than worth it!
My next stay will be in the Fontana Park again for sure.
Already looking forward to it...
Can and will recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a fine hotel in Lisboa!
