We left a dress and they did not respond to my calls to recover it. People at the reception were very unprofessional. Rooms on the first floor are very noisy. Breakfast is terrible. Not recommended!!!

Room Tip: Higher floors are quitter

The best part of this hotel is its location: when exiting the hotel you immidiatly walk on into the square at the end of Rue Garret with plenty of terraces and mostly live music. Good bakery's for breakfast, lunch or even a fine dinner!
Problem with room was quickly solved so service is good.
Room itsself is a bit oldfashioned but okay.

Go to this hotel for the location which is perfect! Metro right outside, and tram and taxi stand. Restaurents all near by. Our room for 4 3 kids and myself was very big and over looked the main street. 4th bed wasn't made when we arrived but they gave us another room without hesitation and because I didn't want to sleep seperatly to the kids made a bed up on the sofa for my youngest. Staff are ok, if asked something they answer ok but none of them are at all welcoming or smile, they all seem as if one is bothering them. Wifi pity you have to pay, it is just a hassle having to go and get another password. Up the room by 5€ and be done with it!
My only complaint was breakfast. Dry bread, industrial croissants, never enough plates, too much like a cantine, milk left out to get hot, old tasting cereal and an orange powder machine! Such a shame for a country that has such good oranges! Airconditioning very good and quiet as we had to close the windows because of the street noise. Nothing extreme just the good atmosphere of lisbon. Rooms were very clean, I also asked for extra towels to use on the beach and they were waiting in our room with no extra charge. Just disappointing the staffs mood.

Room Tip: room 216 big family room looking onto the main street. Very good room and very big!

We had a good time at Borges Hotel in The spring of 2014, except for a 1-night transfer to another well localized but of inferior quality because of overbooking. The hotel is clean, and The staff is very gentle. The negative point is the internet, no included wi fi. It Would be better to pay 5 euros more and have access 24/7.
The localization is very good, 1 minute walk from a pharmacy, 2 minutes from a good bakery, and a plenty of restaurants and cafés just some steps from the door.

Great central location right by metro and in all the action. Good value for money and breakfast included. Rooms very different thd ones on HHS front are large, great views and 2/3 beds. We were in the back tiny dark bedroom , ok if you were in and out all day but no luxury if that's what you're after.

We stayed there just one night for a shopping excursion and it was a perfect location, right in center, in front of a metro station and not far from all bars and restaurants to get out at night. We had a room on a quiet street so it was ok. Maybe if you get a room on the main street it must be a bit noisy.

Very convenient for all the best restaurants in Lisbon. Ask for a front room and be part of the night people of the square. It's not like putting up with the bingers of the UK or hysterical holiday makers in the costas just enthusiastic chatter of people having fun. If you want it to be quiet get a room at the back. Lots of great eateries within a very short stroll through the back streets
