“Good location in an historic building”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

A pleasant hotel with a great location to explore Lisbon steps from the subway and a short walk to everything else. Rooms are nice with a safe and strong wifi signal and the included breakfast was good and varied.
My rating would have been higher but the service was uneven. The staff was generally friendly and helpful but a complaint of a seriously bad odor in the room was "fixed" with a spray of deoderizor that wore off and when I left a "do not disturb" sign on the door when I went to breakfast, the maid entered and stripped the bed and took all the towels.
Tip: shop the Internet sites as the rates vary wildly.

Stayed 3 nights for a weekend break with my wife. Beautifully restored hotel, ideally located a couple of minutes walk from the main square and excellent restaurants.

Rooms are of a good size with high ceilings and large windows. The hotel also offers free WiFi and an great quality buffet breakfast. For the price paid this was incredible value for money and enhanced my enjoyment of the trip.

The hotel even has a roof-top bar and hot tub which can be booked.

The staff are also excellent, all speaking perfect English for those who haven't mastered Portuguese.

We have just returned from a four night stay and can highly recommend the hotel. The location is excellent with the airport bus stop, metro and rail station and two funiculars all within five minutes walk. There was always a good rapport among the staff who were very friendly and helpful, offering us breakfast on our early arrival, giving us maps, directions and advice on places to visit, welcoming us back in the evenings and recommending good local restaurants. We enjoyed the informal breakfasts with a good choice of cereals, fruit, cheeses and cold meats plus freshly squeezed orange juice and espresso coffee.
Our room was very comfortable and well soundproofed with two floor to ceiling windows which opened out with views on to the Avenida da Liberdade. The bathroom was well equipped with robes and plenty of towels.
We loved the style and décor of the hotel with little touches such as tea being available all day in the lobby with port and muscatel in the evenings and the decoration of the lift with quotations and the floor matching the tile mosaics of the Lisbon pavements. The availability of a computer and printer was very useful and the plunge pool area was attractively decorated and very relaxing with soft lighting and loungers.
We did a great deal of research on Lisbon hotels before we chose this hotel and the Heritage exceeded all our expectations.

We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful and dual aspect with large floor to ceiling windows which opened and a great bathroom -our room was number 35. The breakfasts were self service and were very relaxed and there was a good range of food. There was also complimentary teas and ports throughout the afternoon and evening in the bar area. The staff were most helpful and courteous. The pool area was nice but the pool was on the small side.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We loved the atmosphere and the service was very friendly. Perfect location and good food, both in room service and breakfasts. The only slight negative was that, like other reviewers, we found that the room amenities were not always automatically replenished.

My husband and I stayed at this great hotel for a week, and we enjoyed it tremendously. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms extremely clean, with big windows facing the Avenida, yet it was very quiet. The bathroom was lovely - it even had a balcony! Breakfast was really nice with fresh fruit, eggs and freshly baked bread. Best of all was the location, situated close to everything and next to a metrostation. We can only recommend this lovely place, and we would gladly stay again, if our way should come through Lisbon.

Highly recommendable hotel in central Lisbon! We really liked the welcoming and modern interior design, the central location (a mere 5 min. walk to the centre), the friendliness of the staff, the rich and tasty breakfast buffet (great orange juice!) and the cleanliness of the room. A really nice touch is the free coffee and tea, port and moscatel in the lobby. The only (minor) downside was that the room was a little warm at night with the AC switched off (with 10°C outside in early March!), but throughout the night the Avenida is too noisy to sleep with an open window. Still, a really nice place to stay, whether for just a night or much longer. And what really makes the difference is that the staff seems to care.
