We enjoyed our day in Belem having taken the tram from the city centre. Lots to see as you walk around from the Tower, views of the monastery, sweet antiques market in the park and topped off with a lovely delicious lunch at the Rosa dos Mares restaurant where you can people watch eating outside.
Definitely worth spending a day here if you're staying in Lisbon - highlights were the coach museum, antique/artisan markets in the park, the monastery and pastis de belem. The torre de Belem was pretty cool but maybe not worth the 5 euro entry fee.
Only 20 minutes with the tram from the city center, Belém is a great to walk alongside the river, enjoying the views of the monastery, the bridge and the incoming sailing boats.
A beautifull romantic promenade. Nice restaurants and architecture, a good place to feel relaxed. You have to go there
