WOW, what a hotel! I thought the Sofitel Grand Legend in Amsterdam was amazing, but this hotel is that plus a work of art. Every detail thought of, little specialty services everywhere. Beautifully appointed and modern. To die for food.
Tower of Belem, Decembrio - the views from the top of both places are awesome. Also, do NOT forget to go the Belem Pastry, it's a historic place that makes amazing local and famous desert.

There are so many things to do in the Belem area! There is the Belem Tower, of course, but the explorers monument, war memorial, monastary, Pasteis de Belem bakery, coach museum, contemporary art museam are also there. We actually spent two days in Belem. Don't short change yourself on visiting this area, because you might think you can get by with just a couple hours (and if you want to see much of it you can't).
It is easy to spend the entire day in Belem because it is well served with restaurants, cafes and dessert venues as well as attractions.
Wow.. I like pastries but these are delicious! Belem Pastries are the original typical little pastries that you MUST try if you are in Lisbon.
Belem has also a lot of cultural things to see. Hire a bike and go there along the riverside from Lisboa. It's a half our ride and it's really nice!
