“Delicious Sunday Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

My wife, 9-month-old son, and I were wandering through Bairro Alto on a Sunday afternoon, our last day in Portugal, hoping that we could find a shop open, serving some touriga nacional wine. Yes, we know it's Lisbon on Sunday at 4pm ...

We stumbled across this shop and it was open. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Although they didn't have the wine that we wanted - a full touriga nacional grape wine - they tried to get us something close. Although not the same, the wine was still very good. The guy waiting on us brought us bread, cheese, and the jam tubes to sample. Brilliant.

Most importantly, it was nap time for the baby. No problem, because it was a slow Sunday afternoon, they simply brought us to the leather couch where we let the baby sleep. They turned down the volume on the music and simply helped us have the closest thing to a 'date afternoon' for the trip.

I definitely recommend the laid back atmosphere for wine and cheese.

“Delicious, delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We happened to wander in here with some friends for a quick snack -- and left two hours later, full of amazing sardines, exquisite cheeses, fine wine and tasty, tasty salads. Also, weighed down with tubes of jams (pumpkin and orange with rosemary and almond? Fig and orange with cinnamon? Raspberry with vanilla? Nomnom) and gorgeous tins of sardines destined for gifts back home.

The food was fantastic, the service was super friendly (albeit on the slow side, but hey, when you have wine and good company who cares, right?) and we never felt rushed. The girl even went and grabbed us an extra table and suggested the most perfect pairings of wine, cheese, fish and salads.

A great little find.
