“Wedding anniversary trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

This was a lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was very good and was constantly replenished.
Altogether a superb stay and I cannot praise it highly enough.

Like other reviewers we were offered drugs around Restauradores Square but we ignored them and they left us alone. We were rather amused as we are not in the first flush of youth.

We stayed twice on our Portugal holiday in this hotel; four nights at the beginning of our trip, and one night at the end. First the good stuff; the hotel staff and the location are the two best things about this hotel. All the staff, especially Rafael, were amazing. They all went out of their way to clearly give us directions to sites of interest, recommend restaurants, and make whatever reservations that were needed. The hotel is located in the old part of Lisbon, close to great restaurants, the water, bus, train, and tram stations.
The rooms are nicely appointed, but the standard rooms are small, with limited closet space, and no dresser drawers. The hotel was refurbished approximately a year ago so everything is clean and new. However, anyone walking upstairs or out in the hallways can be heard clearly in your room. The management really should change the two Nespresso per stay policy for the in room coffee machine. They give a refridgerator full of drinks including beer, and give a half bottle of Port with each stay, but the two Nespresso pods is a disappointment.
In summary, staff and location A+, rooms B+

Lovely hotel, great decor throughout. Staff extremely friendly and helpful- obviously proud of the hotel, and justly so. Can only echo others who praised. The port and belem cakes were a lovely suprise as was the free mini-bar. Situated at the top edge of the Baixa and, so, close to Metro and shopping. One of the best hotels we have stayed in.
Only minor complaint is the lack of storage for bags- but it is minor.
We live in Portugal and ate in the restaurant as an alternative to 'cozinha portugeuse'- we were really pleased with the food. The chef trained in a 3 star michelin- and it showed. It is more expensive than the local restaurants- but not bank brakingly so- and a class apart. Well worth trying.
Next time we come shopping to Lisbon, we will return! Thank you!

Stayed two nights in this nice hotel in December,
First they have a very good staff: hospitable, eager to help, professional From check-in and a welcoming bottle of Porto with a Belem cake (a very pleasant surprise), to restaurant choice and sight-seeing advice. Their staff is definitely the main advantage of this place.
Second, they have quite a good breakfast to start you day.
Third, rooms (although on the small side) are very well cleaned, have very comfortable beds, big safe deposit box, ironing facilities, coffee machine (Nespresso) a mini bar and a very nice shower. Mine had windows overlooking the street: hotel is on a pedestrian street in the very heart of Baixa, so no street noise at all (although you have to walk 30-50 meters with your luggage when coming or leaving and there is no view - you look directly into the opposite house's windows.
Fourth, location is very good for seeing historical city center: next to Santa Justa elevator, short walking distance to Commerce square, Lisbon cathedral, Barrio Alto etc. One should beware the numerous suspicious looking individuals insistently offering drugs on every corner of the city center (especially around Restauradores Sq) Just ignore them and absolutely no troubles will follow.

Room Tip: Comfort double room is rather small, superior double or suite should be more spacious

Overall a great hotel and would definitely stay there again - perfect location, friendly staff, well furnished rooms, large bathroom and very clean. Location - very central, in the heart of old town, located on the pedestrian street (hence quiet). 4 mins walking to the main square by the river, 10 mins uphill to the castle, 2 mins to the Rossio square where most public transport is/bus from the airport stops. Rooms: on arrival we were offered a promotion to upgrade our standard comfort room to the superior room for eur 10 extra a night, which seemed like a great idea. King size bed, a free of charge mini bar (refilled every day - juice, coke, beer) and a very large bathroom. New furnishings, sat tv and even though our room was in the corner of the building, wifi connection was all ok. Again, overall definitely a great hotel. Only a couple downfalls - one day we had a short period of time with no hot water (felt like the boiler was not quick enough to heat it up) and the coffee in the hotel bar was a bit sour for some reason (maybe some weird/old milk) - we got that extra upgrade to superior room free of charge because of that. Apart from that, it is a 8+/10 hotel if you are very picky and 9+/10 if more laid back.

Room Tip: worth to extra for superior room

We stayed two nights in Lisbon and wanted to find a hotel that was centrally located. Hotel Santa Justa was the perfect fit. Its a small hotel located in a busy restaurant area. We had a room with a balcony and enjoyed having our doors open and hearing the music and street noise from below. With the doors closed the noise didn't bother us at all. The rooms were very modern and clean.

It was our anniversary and we were surprised to have wine, dessert and a sweet note waiting for us in our room. The hotel staff was very accommodating with helping with recommendations and reservations as well.

We didn't book the room with breakfast so I can't comment on that.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Room with a balcony high up to be further away from street noise

We stayed for three nights. It's a very new hotel ( less then a year) first the good things. Location is perfect , just in the center of Baixa. Service is very attentive ( thanks a lot to Miguel for your service during breakfast) but as I said the hotel is not perfect for two reasons: first, the standard rooms are tiny. Second there is a maintenance problem . I am very picky about hotels and always look for new hotels since i believe they will be very clean. When I got into our room I saw that the toilets looked dirty ( they had brown spots and did not look as new as expected from such a new hotel)our friends had the same problem in their room . I must say that after I complained they changed our room and gave us an upgrade to a superior room which was very big (but still did not look clean and shiny)

Room Tip: If you don't have a budget problem take a superio Room it's a lot bigger than the standards
