Owner description: This suspension bridge across the Tagus River has the longest central span in Europe, at 1.5 miles. It also looks quite a bit like San Francisco's famed "Golden Gate Bridge," though this one was named after the revolution.

“Also known as the Vasco De Gama Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

This bridge can be viewed from many lookouts around Lisbon. You can travel over the bridge as part of a day trip out of Lisbon or if you have your own transport, you can drive across the bridge yourself. It is one of the prominent structures in Lisbon.

“It's a Bridge! What else can one say?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

The bridge can be seen from many vantage points & lookouts around the city and unless you are a bridge fan, that is all you need, just to see it from a distance.
Tip: If you want to travel cross the bridge then some day trips will actually travel over the bridge, depending on which direction you are going. The bridge is also known as the '25th of April Bridge' - as per our tour guide! A bit of trivia for you. There is definitely a reason for this name, so if you would like to find our more, you know what to do! Google of course, as I can't remember! Sorry! :)

“Amazing Bridge and view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

When you first see this bridge, its wow. From the moment you near the bridge you see the huge Jesus statue atop of a hill, a huge mass of water with many boats and ships of all sizes and across the otherside of the bridge there is a town but it's so far away because the bridge is so long. From the ground it is just as impressive. We at dinner down on the waterfront on a night that just happened to have a full moon and the moon looked like a giant ball through the wires of the bridge, it was an amazing view.

“You will see it almost from any point of the city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Well this is not a "real attraction", it´s just a bridge, unless you are very interested on this kind of subject, the only thing will turn this off of an ordinary bridge rate is the fact to be very similiar to the world wide known San Francisco bridge. In fact was the same construction company making both.

Basically you don´t need to travel to a specific place of the city to see it, obviously there´s some key spots.

“Golden Gate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Looks a lot like Golden Gate in San Francisco. I personally like Golden Gate a lot so it was very fun for me to see 25 de Abril. It's moderately long and it stand pretty high. If you're staying in Lisbon I'd recommend you to go see it and maybe take a ride over it. The bad thing i s that pedestrians cannot cross it. It would be very nice to go for a walk over it, like you can do on Golden Gate.
