Excellent Hotel with classy decor blend of traditional and modern. Rooms and service faultless. Staff very helpful and pleasant, The room maid spotted my wife's birthday cards on the room table. When we arrived back to the room in the evening there was a bottle of bubbly and a cake from the hotel, nice touch.
On the Saturday evening meal the service got a bit confused but that seemed to be remedied for the rest of the week. Breakfast buffet style on the lower floor was well provided for, if a bit busy at times but it all seemed well organised.
Easy to get to the Metro and Yellow tour bus to get around and see the sights. There is one of the classiest and largest department stores with everything 100 m walk away.
Approx 25 min by cab from the airport, 13 Euro or take the Metro from the Airport to Sao Sebastiao stop, will land you 300m from the hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor I think in the old part of the hotel, plenty of character with styl...

Comfortable hotel, nice breakfast, spacious and clean room (except for the carpet!) but the big plus of this hotel is the staff!! Very helpful, friendly and with a sense of humour. It really makes a difference in the experience.
Thnx for a wonderful stay!

About thirty mins walk to the main city centre, but close to at least tree different metro stations. Service in the restaurant was excellent and the choice of dishes too. Rooms were spacious, but no real view as in. Residential and commercial area. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was plentiful, but the hot buffet was often too cold. Staff really helpful both on reception and in the bar and restaurant.

Just back from 3 nights in Real Palacio Hotel. This is a very good 4* hotel but its staff are 5*...we had some issues with our heating system(air-con)in our room after getting very wet & cold walking to & from the centre.Madelinha at reception dealt with the matter superbly;courteous & efficient;when we were not satisfied with low heat available & a water leak from our bath;we were moved to a beautiful suite;upgraded. The staff made our break;Michael,Patrick & Andre,so helpful in arranging printing off my return boarding cards....you are a credit to your employers.
Yes,the hotel needs some new carpets...yes,the hotel needs some refurbishment/updating...but we will be back...our stay was great.
The breakfast is top class..beautiful hot & cold buffet, great quality & variety.
Dont hesitate in staying in Real Palacio....great staff, great location, great value.

This hotel is 30-40 minutes walk away from the center, but there is a metro station nearby; it is located in a residential area; there is a large shopping centre nearby and the Gulbenkian Foundation. There are a number of restaurants and cafes around. (closed Sundays) This is a well run hotel, somewhat dated and in need of some improvement but considering the lower price point, it represents a good value. The breakfast is not satisfactory and it is certainly not worth 12 EURs. The breakfast hall is small and very busy at times; coffee is not good. The hotel staff is just doing their job nothing more. It should be noted that this hotel should be treated as 4 star not 5 as it is advertised.. Free wifi connection is a plus point.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family.

Location:
It is about a 15-20 minute drive from the airport, we were helped with our luggage. There is a plaza close by and a few shops down the main road. At the bottom of the main road you will be able to book bus tours.

Room and Cleanliness: Standard Double Room was incredibly spacious and good quality, the bed was quite firm, if this is not in your liking you should request a mattress cover. The heating was good and there was a decent view. The rooms are cleaned everyday and towels are replaced everyday also.

Customer Service:
I emailed some requests the day before and the reception staff provided everything I had asked for. They are very helpful and always willing to deliver excellent customer service. Our flight to come back home was departing at 7.00pm so we had to get a late check out at 5.00pm and they charged us 38 euros which is how much they would charge anyone who is staying in standard double room up until 6.00pm.

WIFI: The wifi is very strong we stayed in room 203 and it was excellent absolutely no problem at all.

Food: Since we paid for Half Board, breakfast and dinner were included in this rate. But it was brilliant absolutely 5* start service. There is such a wide variety of different foods on offer at breakfast. Dinner was superb the customer service provided was top notch and we had no complaints there!
On the weekends they do provide a buffet dinner, but I preferred the other nights. The drinks they offer are quite pricey for example, a small bottle of coca cola or 7up cost us 4 euros each and a bottle of water cost us 4 euros each a Caprinha cocktail is 9 euros each, whereas if you go outside, just down the road they offer these SAME cocktails for only 4 euros each and they will put more gin in them too ;)

Facilities: The treatments rooms they offer are, Sauna, Steam Room/Turkish Bath/ Jacuzzi, these are absolutely brilliant, my partner and I used these everyday of our stay and they are open from 9.00am to 9.00pm.

All in all we paid £266.60 for the accommodation so we believed we definitely got a great deal there!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 203 it is a standard double room, very large, the free WIFI was brilliant no probl...
