“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We stayed here for a week in September and would highly recommend .Smooth check-in ,luggage brought to room by a very friendly porter who offered to help in any way he could. The room was very clean and comfortable and had all you would need .The breakfast was excellent and very tasty, the staff were all so friendly and a special thanks to Indina who booked a great night for us at a Fado restaurant I would also like to thank Tiago for his kindness and care when I hurt my ankle bringing me ice and a towel without being asked. Thanks also to Fabio and Neno who work in the terrece bar.We would come back just to see them again.
The location is great for metro and buses and we liked after sightseeing getting away from all buzz of the great city and relaxing in the wonderful pool area before going out again.
Stay here you wont regret it .

Room Tip: We were on the seventh floor and no noise

I was surprised at how dirty the carpet in the room was, it looked like it should have been laid near the pavement. No milk or creamer in the room for the coffee or tea, had a drink in the lounge bar and the server walked off in the middle of us placing the order to goo something behind the bar and then brought the wrong drink despite it was ordered in English and Portuguese.
Some good staff but let down by a general poor room.

Room Tip: Good value on the room rate, but then you find that it's matched by a lower standard in the room...

Dear Guest,

Many Thanks for your personal feedback

We are instantly surprised and disappointed that you haven’t experienced the true spirit of Corinthia “Craftsmanship of care” during your stay and please accept our sincere apologies.

Thank you for bringing to our attention the issues raised on the room which will be taken care immediately. Kindly note that creams are available at the minibar and we are sorry if for some reason there was a shortfall in our standards.

Your comments regarding the Bar are dully noted and were discussed with the F&B Manager to improve the service. Our Training Manager will ensure that our F&B Servers do get further training in our company’s philosophy of true hospitality service with craftsmanship of care.

We have taken your comments very seriously and the management team is already involved to take these concerns further and follow up with actions to avoid similar circumstances in the future.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon in a perfectly crafted experience.

I've been there with my girlfriend for 3 days this month. We've got very good diary value and at first were a bit hesitating because of the location. Room is big, comfortable, great bed, great bathroom, silent. Breakfast is very good (it even had sparkling water which is very difficult to find without paying for it). Everything we've ordered at the room service was amazing (I can't say the same about must great hotels around the world), of course it comes with a price. About the location, even though it is not walking distance to most Lisbon attractions, it is close to a subway station, and you can easily get to almost everywhere in town with it. Plus, the city has one of the cheapest taxi fares in Europe, which is a good choice specially in the Heat f this season. I highly recommend this place.

Visited the Corinthia as part of a BA city break package. On arrival upgraded to the executive room following TA 'advice'. Cost 50 € per night which was well worth it. The executive lounge is situated on the 24 the floor where you can relax and visit the buffet for excellent snacks and drinks both soft and alcoholic. Our room on the 22 nd floor had wonderful views over the city and the aqueduct. There was a coffee machine and plenty of ingredients for hot beverages plus a well stocked minibar which I found reasonable. There were plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and a good shower over a bath. All the towels were of a good size and had plenty of wear in them. The bed was very comfy and there was a flat screen tv in the room. All in all much as you would expect in such a hotel. The real difference for me was the helpfulness and cheerful professionalism of the staff. The check in was very efficient, the checkout even more so as the young man even carried our bags out to the taxi when we left. The porters, waiters and waitresses were first class. Well done management. A few more things; breakfast was excellent so much choice hot or cold, cereals, fruit, breads, omelettes, bacon, sausage etc. plenty of dining space inside and out on the terrace and attentive staff working very hard to bring coffee and clear the tables. Spotlessly clean and food replenished very efficiently. In the evening I visited the bar and had a nightcap and special mention must be made to Riu who is a great ambassador for the hotel. Efficient, polite, helpful and hardworking. Some other points; the hotel is near to the zoo. We went and it was very very good. There is not much around the hotel as it is in the business district but taxi fares to sites in Lisbon are very reasonable for a big city and there are always taxis outside the hotel. There is wifi in the rooms which is a nice option. I would have no hesitation in returning to the Corinthia if and when I come back to Lisbon.

Room Tip: Higher rooms less noise better views at back of hotel

We pre-arranged to extend our stay at this hotel for a couple of days following the end of a tour. The transition was seamless and efficient. The hotel met our expectations for a 5star property and we have no hesitation recommending it to other travellers. Pluses include free in-room wifi, kettle for tea and coffee; minor concerns would include the lack of a clock radio, not hot enough water for a soak, and a small night table hardly large enough for a telephone. The location of the hotel is not an issue for us as we used the metro across from the hotel to go everywhere (unlimited 24 hr green card for 6euro for rides on metro, historical trams, modern trams and buses). Make sure you keep your pass for exit. Two notable restaurants are nearby and one is TripAdvisor endorsed five minutes away on the same side as the hotel. The pool looks inviting but we did not use. Breakfast buffet is outstanding and service of attendants courteous.

Stayed in the junior suite for a week and the service and quality of everything here has been completely amazing! Even the dinner buffet is great, and I'm usually not a big fan of buffets.
Staff has been nothing but helpfull and they're really sweet with our little 2 year old.
They always put in 'the little extra'.
High speed free Wifi in the room, and the bathroom seem very newly renovated.

I want to go back here!!

Enjoyed our 3 night stay here - very comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts extremely good with loads of choice, pool area good and room fine though not as large as we had hoped. No-one explained the Executive room upgrade which we might otherwise have done. Staff pleasant and helpful but not really engaged with their customers - all rather distanced we felt.
Only small complaint was having to ring housekeeping twice for more t-bags and these were not replenished. However, all told a very good stay, location 2 mins from Metro station and buses ran past the hotel. We would return to Lisbon and very probably to the Corinthia.

Room Tip: Try to get either a corner room or one facing the front of hotel (neither of which we had!!)
