Visited the Corinthia as part of a BA city break package. On arrival upgraded to the executive room following TA 'advice'. Cost 50 € per night which was well worth it. The executive lounge is situated on the 24 the floor where you can relax and visit the buffet for excellent snacks and drinks both soft and alcoholic. Our room on the 22 nd floor had wonderful views over the city and the aqueduct. There was a coffee machine and plenty of ingredients for hot beverages plus a well stocked minibar which I found reasonable. There were plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and a good shower over a bath. All the towels were of a good size and had plenty of wear in them. The bed was very comfy and there was a flat screen tv in the room. All in all much as you would expect in such a hotel. The real difference for me was the helpfulness and cheerful professionalism of the staff. The check in was very efficient, the checkout even more so as the young man even carried our bags out to the taxi when we left. The porters, waiters and waitresses were first class. Well done management. A few more things; breakfast was excellent so much choice hot or cold, cereals, fruit, breads, omelettes, bacon, sausage etc. plenty of dining space inside and out on the terrace and attentive staff working very hard to bring coffee and clear the tables. Spotlessly clean and food replenished very efficiently. In the evening I visited the bar and had a nightcap and special mention must be made to Riu who is a great ambassador for the hotel. Efficient, polite, helpful and hardworking. Some other points; the hotel is near to the zoo. We went and it was very very good. There is not much around the hotel as it is in the business district but taxi fares to sites in Lisbon are very reasonable for a big city and there are always taxis outside the hotel. There is wifi in the rooms which is a nice option. I would have no hesitation in returning to the Corinthia if and when I come back to Lisbon.
