Great hotel. The rooms are just "wauw". This hotel has a lot of good taste.
Just breakfast is poor and there is no gym or sauna / Hamam.

BUT: Situation is super, Good service, Free WIFI (and very good connection), and like is said. great rooms.

If you don't like black, please ask for a white room. (but they have only 6 white room)

If you like trendy hotels, you will enjoy this (same as Hotel bloom (Brussels), Lobby Nordic light (Stockholm), .. )

Room Tip: If you don't like black, please ask for a white room. (but they have only 6 white room)

Fontecruz is a very nice hotel. Well located in the center. The staff will make your stay very pleasant.
Rooms are very nice, lobby too.
The wi-fi is perfect for Internet addicted.
The only thing missing is a spa, or a swimming pool.
Breakfast is ok, not the best but you'll eat but all you need for a good breakfast.

A lovely boutique hotel. Such friendly staff, will do anything to help. great rooms and powerful showers. All amenities in the room are first class. Our room overlooked the tree lined Av Liberdade. There is a metro station right outside. The restaurant area is just a 5 minute walk away. A courtyard at the back is a beautiful quite location to relax after a busy day. Stunning lobby with a Moet & Chandon champagne bar.

This boutique hotel is in an excellent location, close to the centre of Lisbon and in a very safe area. The staff were mostly friendly and efficient. Breakfasts, particulary the pastries, were very good. Our beds were comfortable with good quality bed linen and the sound proofing must be good because we did not hear any noise at all. There were some downsides however; the lighting in the bedrooms is very dim and also, as there were three of us sharing what is normally a double room, there was very little storage space for our clothes - the only drawers were those in the wardrobe. Perhaps the interior designer should have put in lockers rather than trunks beside the beds and given more thought to lighting.
One downside on our trip to Lisbon was the taxi we got after queuing for about 15 minutes at the airport. A mercedes without a taxi sign. We didn't think about the fact that there wasn't a meter running and we handed over the €35 which we were asked for - only to discover later that the fare should not have been more than €15.

Nice hotel. It definitely has its own flair and character when it comes to decor, but it makes the rooms and hallways feel a bit dark. The rooms (and bathrooms) were really big and the bed was extremely comfortable. We found the staff to be very helpful. They did a lot for us and were very accommodating- especially since we were traveling with our baby. Even though our room looked out onto the busy street- there was hardly any traffic noise. We heard our neighbors occasionally through the adjoining door, but it generally was not a problem. Overall, it was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our time in Lisbon.

Fontecruz is an outstanding little hotel on one of Lisbon's main avenues. I stayed here with kids and enjoyed it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant service is very good and a decent value. The room we had was well sized with all the standard amenities.

Positive points:
- Excellent and friendly service. Front desk, room, and restaurant service were all very good. The restaurant got slow at times and once we had to get the attention of wait staff that seemed to be hiding in the kitchen ... but nothing out of the norm, especially in slower cities like Lisbon.
- Great location in the middle of the city.
- Clean and high quality rooms / furnishings.
- Comfortable beds and reasonably quiet rooms. We slept well here.
- Good value (this is one of the less expensive, but nicer hotels in which we have stayed).

Potential concerns:
- The decor is centered on the color black. It's attractive, but not the most practical color. Some guests will doubtless dislike it or find it tiresome after a while.

Overall, would definitely stay there again.

This very visual hotel is sleek, modern and urbane. The black decor, with pops of color and whimsy, is creative and fun the first walk through. The front desk staff is amazing, very helpful with getting visitors to Lisbon orientated to the City and it's attractions. They made restaurant reservations for us, called the cab and then walked out with us to make sure the cabbie knew exactly where we needed to go. The hotel's location is in the posh area of town and convenient to everywhere. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The included breakfast is good and popular.

The designers chose form over function in small ways however. We were convinced that they never actually stayed in their own space. If your time extends beyond a quick overnight, the black decor quickly turns cavelike and oppressive. Hallways are black walls, black doors and black carpets-it always felt like it was midnight. Black bathrooms are chic but the shower spray extends beyond the minimalist glass panel and the floor was always wet. Water temperature turns hot to cold on you when adjacent rooms turn on their plumbing. One morning had no hot water. Vessel sinks are great only if the vanity underneath is large enough for 2 dob kits and a hair dryer. These are not. Want to unpack your suitcase? Then your clothes will be on a chair as there is no drawer space to stow things. Need a luggage rack? Not cool enough for these rooms.

We were glad to have stayed here once and seem this space but would not stay here a second time if we return to Lisbon.
