“A master class in innovative cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Prepare yourself for an exquisite experience of flavours and textures that will take you by surprise.
This is the home of famous portuguese Chef José Avilez who plays with food like a master plays with elements.
With a kitchen loaded with technology but at the same time full of young turks trying to understand the secrets of molecular cuisine, there is no lack of manpower to give you a human touch to food.
From the reversed Martini to a tempura olive at the beginning of the meal gives you a small insight at what to come next.
I had the egg with gold followed by the sea brass with shells and both excelled in taste and textures.
For dessert a special arrangement of tangerine tastes which were too good to be true. Much better than the original.
Service is very professional and up to the high standard of the Chef.
Worth the visit and I will be back.

“Impecable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

Perfect for a special dinner.
If you like to amazed by new creations, this is the place. The chef Jose Avillez is wonderful.
Romantic ambience, nice area of Bairro Alto.
You can see the kitchen. More than 20 people working there, that's why everything is so perfect!

“Still my favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Every time I come here the restaurant just tops the previous visit.
This is one of the three top eateries in Lisboa and my personal
favorite . I do not have a single negative comment about the place.
The cuisine, service, facility, and location are first class and they deserve
their star, it should be two Michelins. Exceptional restaurant.

“Fantastic meal. Period.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Had dinner at Belcanto after a long day of travelling. The restaurant was recommended to us so we expected a good meal, but the actual results were far better than expected.
The food was excellent, especially the "surprises" that were served throughout the meal - such as "exploding olives" :) or the fois gras truffles....
Great atmosphere and excellent service also contributed to a fantastic experience. Definitely worth while.
