“Lisbon discovery with not so fast pace”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Taking tram 28 was good experience for me to discover the spirit of high steep hills of lisbon. It went through some attractions of old town and if you are lucky to take a seat in crowdy tram, then you can watch outside from your window and enjoy. The price ticket is very economical(1.4 euros) but keep in mind that you should take the ticket before you take the tram otherwise you will be charged more. It is better to take the tram on the first station(both sides) otherwise you probably will have unpleasent experience stucking between crowd in the tram. When I took the tram, it was also went through some shortcuts(or alternative path) because the original one was under some kind of construction and was temporarily off the service. Generally, considering the ticket price and friendly atmosphere of tram's inside, I recommend taking this tram. But even if you miss this during your trip to lisbon, do not worry much and instead, discover the city of seven hills by foot!

“Goes through the main centre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

It was ok and short though going up a steep hill getting into the town centre. Worth a visit though but not to get too excited about it. The ticket can be purchased as part of main train ticket as it is cheaper.

“Trip to Graca and Alfama”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Tram 28 is a unique way to see some of the sites in Lisbon. On Saturday we took the '28' to Graca which is a small village in the hills above Alfama. Take some time to drink a coffee and try the custard tarts 'pastels' at the nearby cafe...you won't be disappointed. Good walking shoes are a must as you can then begin your ascent down the hills of Alfama. Along the way we came across a huge flea market selling everything imaginable, even wedding dresses! As you make your way down through Alfama there are beautiful churches to visit, the famous Castello de Sao Jorge a magnificent castle that towers above Lisbon. Not only that, the views across Lisbon over the Tagus River are breathtaking! Camera essential. We continued our leisurely stroll though the cobble stone streets back down to the city of Lisbon. Allow 3-4 hours to make this trip.

“Excellent way to discover the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is an old style tram which passes all major attractions in the city centre - so you can enjoy Lisbon's narrow streets while travelling in the tram. You can easily take photos because the windows in the tram are risen. The tram itself looks like a small museum with its wooden body and the tram can go upwards and backwards!!

“Best way to know Lisbon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a MUST in a visit to Lisbon.

For 18Euros, it sounds a little expensive but for what you get this is one of the best deals in town. As for 24Hours it allows you to go on all the other trams and lifts. So you can start with this one, then go until the Elevador da Bica and go uptown again. And just walk down to the Elevador de Santa Justa. These two are my favourites, but there are a couple more and you can use your ticket in all of them.

The tram departs from Terreiro do Paço every 20 minutes. I recomend you get the normal seats on the letf side as it will allow you to see everything without a problem.

You will pass throught the most important parts of Lisbon. You can exit the tram on several stops along the way and resume it when the next arrives if you want. But my personal recomendation is don't. Do the trip all at once, and signal on the map that they provide the places you want to go and visit again. Then when you arrive at Terreiro do Paço again ask the clercs what other Tram will take you to the places you want to see again and just hop on it, IT IS ALREADY PAYED FOR ANYWAY.

It can be a little bit boring for little children. But is a lovely ride for adults.

I hope this helps you.
