A ride on it will bring you from the top of Alfama to the Bairro Alto passing through the main spots in the city.

Was very busy and we waited around twenty mins but worth while an excellent journey up through the city on tight streets had to get off at top then queue to board again but excellent fun! But beware pickpockets.

“recomended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

You have to use it for a tour. Its one of the most beautiful atracions
of the city. Be carefull only, with pickpokets when you go inside, they try to help you to come inside to the tram and trying to steal
your wallet.

“The best deal for seeing Lisboa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

No tourism bus, please. Much better to catch the tram 28 and see several attractions during the ride. I suggest you can catch it in front of the Catedral and go up to the castle. Get off a bit before at the tiny Praça Julio de Castiilho. There you can see bouganville flowers, the Tejo river, and maybe you will listen to some live music and see some artcrafts. Then walk up to the very close by castle. After this, catch the tram downhill again and go Chiado. There you can get off again and have a coffee in A Brasileira. You can also continue the ride after this.

“Best of Lisbon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Simply put: The BEST way to know Lisbon. Buy the transportation ticket that would allow you to use it for a certain time; that will allow you to hop on and off and take it up to where ever you like, even on subway and the elevator. We did go til the last stop and dont regret it. We saw a different part of town which was great and the enchantment of the 28 just made the visit worth while. Driver will let you know where to hop off even though they are not extremely friendly. Take it on Martin Moriz square to alfama, visit the surroundings of the castle. Hop on and get to the square by the river Praça do Comercio. Hop on again to Chiado or Bairro Alto.
Pickpockets are a worldwide venture so beware.
