“Great location, super service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is located right in the thick of things, downtown in the Rossio-Baixa area and walking distance from the Praca do Comercio and Chiado. We could stand on our tiny balcony and look straight down the pedestrian street, past the arch and to the ocean. We stayed on the Zen Floor (302) so the decor was calming. The room is well equipped with good Wifi, Nespresso machine, fridge, flat screen, a good shower and a decent bed (albeit a pair of twins). The one area that could use a boost is the linens. The comforter and pillows are both foam-like and I prefer something squishy but everything else was super nice. The hotel itself is an experience. Its fun. It's artsy in a mod way. Its "happy" and that's a tall, cool glass of water in what can be stuffy, old, dry Europe. It's very friendly and very good value. The breakfast which was included in our rate was excellent, best breakfast selection on the trip. We ate there (Bastardo) for dinner once as well and it was surprisingly good. One word of warning: pack light, you're surrounded by shoe stores.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 302 facing the pedestrian street. It was not loud and it had a tiny little balcon...

Having looked at many places to stay we chose the IDH and we're so glad we did. Perfect central location, close to many sights, trams stops, bars & restaurants. Hotel is small and there aren't loads of facilities but it had everything we needed. Restaurant was fun and great decor. Breakfast was brilliant with loads of options; get there early to get the best bits. Only frustration was that the coffee machine in room comes with very little coffee and no milk. We were told on arrival about this and to just call the restaurant for these things for free but after a while it becomes embarrassing and frustrating. More than 3 coffee pods a day for 2 people would be nice. Overall we would definitely recommend IDH.

This is a small hotel with clean, modern rooms and bathrooms; very helpful staff, great breakfast; excellent location. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants and sites. I plan to return to Lisbon and I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the square if you can. It might be a little noisy once in awhile, but it'...

Great location and excellent service staff all around, from the hotel car driver, front desk and bell boy. Everyone spoke excellent English and delivered 5star level of service for this boutique hotel. Will certainly stay here again when we visit Lisbon next time.

Rave reviews of this hotel brought us to book this rather than go five star. Its a nice hotel, a bit quirky, great staff but I didn't get the wow factor lots of others were reporting. The rooms are small but manageable and breakfast was good if not great, mainly because the hot section was very limited although the actual quality of the food was very good.I also thought places looked a bit scruffy, nothing overt but noticeable all the same e.g., the main stairs carpet was a bit worn which isn't a good look. Excellent turn down service with nice cakes waiting for us when we got home from a night out.
Its located smack bang in the middle of the old town with the metro station one minute walk away. The metro goes all the way to the airport so a good way to travel if you don't want to get ripped off by the taxi drivers.
What I didn't see reported on here before the holiday were the numbers of drug pushers openly approaching you asking if you would like hashish or cocaine. I was approached about 20 times in a three day stay. They aren't menacing and go away when you say no but it was surprising that they can openly get away with it.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a nice review about your stay with us.

As you mentioned above, breakfast is one of our top concerns and we are always trying to improve it. It’s important for you to have a nice breakfast, in order to start your day in a perfect mood.

Also, our hotel is in a perfect location, right in the centre of the city, so you can walk to most parts of the attractions in Lisbon, like the St. Jorge’s Castle, Alfama and Bairro Alto.

We have noted your comments, have forwarded them to the relevant departments, and it would be our pleasure to welcome you again to Lisbon.

We have different room categories, and our Superior rooms and our Suite are larger in size, so let us know the next time you come to Lisbon so we can help you find the best room to suit your needs.

Kind Regards,
Gonçalo Vicente
Front Office Agent

This hotel is in one of the best locations in the center of Lisbon. Easy walk to most attractions, right by the train station to Sintra. The members of the staff were very helpful and accommodating. There are a variety of rooms and views. Ask for a room with a view of the square, we were on the third floor with a very nice room. The place is a little funky, so if you are used to the Four Seasons, this is not a place in which you will be comfortable.

We booked the room with interior view and this didn't rhyme with me. I felt imprisoned but my husband didn't really mind. Available space in the room was all right, as was bathroom space.

Lovely details in every corner, funny accents everywhere. Breakfast great quality. Nice treat: a small fruit snack was delivered to our room every night around 18:00. Really felt like receiving a treat from mummy. And it was yummy :-)

Bell boy also gave us lots of tourist info, indicating everything on city map, including where to get bus tickets etc.

Room Tip: avoid rooms with interior view if you are claustrophobic
