“Well located with great decor and amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

We stayed at this hotel on recommendation of friends, and really enjoyed our visit. Front desk service was excellent, and were happy to recommend local restaurants, and to arrange transportation to the airport for a very early morning flight. The welcoming drink in the lovely lounge was a nice way to start our visit. The hotel is very well located, and the themed rooms are really fun. We stayed on the pop art floor. Rooms are small but well laid out, and the bathroom has lovely amenities. Would definitely stay again.

What a pleasant experience. Everything was fabulous. From the unbeatable central location, to the unique "themed" rooms, and of course the ever so helpful staff. Always smiling, always ready with suggestions. Just wonderful......a real asset to this hotel.
We were in a "zen room" with an incredible view of the square all lit up for the Christmas holidays.
Impeccably clean, we had a "small room" and it was large enough for a comfortable experience. The nespresso machine is a nice touch as well.
Breakfast was fantastic with a nice assortment and variety. The bar/eating area is surrounded by windows and is great place for romantic encounters. The two gentlemen running the bar were very attentive. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Lisbon. Two thumbs up all the way.

Room Tip: Have the staff show you an example of each theme. It's really a matter of personal preferrence...

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights & am very pleased with my first experience in Lisbon thanks to its helpful/friendly staff & central location. I stayed in a Zen room & it was notably clean & quiet with nicely appointed amenities, i.e. Nespresso coffee maching, rain showerfall, 42" Sony flat screen, safe, free wi-fi, etc. Great view of the main square from my balcony too! Amazing gourmet breakfast buffet included & def worth getting out of the comfortable bed for! I had a rental car & was able to park across the street in a garage w/ unlimited in-out access for only 15€/day.
I will definitly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon & would more than likely choose to stay here again for any future visits.

very nice hotel, great location, good price, too small rooms. internet for free and good connection. no lobby at all, but with a nice bar. interiors are new and nice, real design stuff. very big and nice shower.

Room Tip: ask for the biggest room available cause the normal one you cannot stay in two people.

Just came back from a trip to Lisbon with a group of friends. We stayed 7 nights at International Design Hotel. Location, location, location.... . You can walk anywhere, breakfast was included and was perfect, rooms were very clean and modern. What I want to comment on is the staff of the hotel..................I am speechless. Ricardo and Mariano at the front desk went out of their way to answer every question (and we had many), Goncalo at the bar had a mini lecture for us to introduce us to Porto..... During the stay the cleaning staff accidentaly broke a jar of eye cream. The letter of appology was followed by reimbursment of the cost of the cream and complementary drinks for four at the bar....every single employee that we came in contact with on that day apologized for what had happened... we were all pleasantly shocked and pleased by the professional way they handled the situation. To sum up... you do not need to look any further. This is THE place to stay in Lisbon.

If you read nothing but the opening sentence of this review, please take note that this hotel offered us some of the BEST service we have ever received in a hotel.

This trip marked my second visit to Lisbon, after a less than stellar experience on my last trip. Unfortunately, upon arrival to Lisbon this time, we found out that our luggage had been delayed/lost/misplaced by our airline. The hotel reception staff offered without hesitation to take a copy of the missing baggage report and pursue the airline regularly to ensure we were kept aware of any progress in returning our luggage. They went above and beyond in this aspect and should be highly commended for their quality customer service.

Our entire stay in the hotel was excellent - the hotel lived up-to it's name with it's cutting edge decor in both the rooms and the public areas. Rooms were kept very clean, our room had a Nespresso machine for free usage, complimentary bottle of water, free wi-fi access and a view overlooking the square. Bathrooms were a very good size with nice toiletries and bathrobes. Bed was extremely comfortable also.

The buffet breakfast was second to none, a wide variety of options and all excellent quality. They even had freshly squeezed juice - a rarity as most hotels opt for a lovely juice concentrate - yuck!

Location was excellent - couple of mins walk to Rossio, situated right next to Praça Figueira where all the open top buses and tram tours depart, also next to major shopping stretch and a couple of mins walk from all the designer stores of Av. Liberdade and a 5 min walk to Praça do Commercio.

To conclude - I am unable to find fault with this hotel (except the slippers in the bathroom, judging by their sizes, were for 1 male and 1 female - don't forget your same-sex clientele who may not necessarily wear size 5's! haha). Really couldn't have asked for more!
