“Good room, strange staff and services”

We decided to stay in the NH Liberdade hotel due to the fact we have some experience with the NH chain of hotels and felt it is a safe bet.
The check in staff was at first nice and they gave a decent room. Be aware - hotel is located in a shopping mall (Tivoli forum) so do not expect any great views (at least from the lower floors). The location is excellent with Metro a few metres away and walking distance to downtown.
The first surprise was the next day's morning when check in staff twice called to the room (woke us), banged on door and asked us to go to reception!?! (first time such a thing happened to me). They said my credit card could not authorize and since I have had some problems with that in Portugal I have kindly offerd the next one and then the next one... It turned out they had a bad card-link problem and were upseting us (what did they think?) because of their fault... So everything else was then ok (one of the card was accepted) until our departure. I wanted at the end to use another card for this hotel and asked them to cancel the first authorization and charge me on the first one. They did it and felt my mind at ease. But in the first store none my wife's card was maxed-out?!? and we known we have not used it that much...
As we came home and with some nervousness for the card not to work we saw that the hotel staff authorized the sum of money couple of times on the card and therefore blocked it for quite some time... I had to call them a couple of times so that they properly release some of the authorizations ...

Anyway too bad for such a bitter experience in a generally ok hotel - just be aware about the card you give them. Additional tip: pool works just in summer months and although in May it was very, very hot we could not use it, which is what you pay for at the end, don't you?

“Really Good”

Excellent Hotel, we stayed for a two day break, the room we got was on 9th floor, large room super comfy bed and a nice touch is the small kitchen are nice to make a cup of tea! Staff was good and the buffet breakfast very good. The only thing we thought was crap about the hotel was they state there restaurant is excellent but its closed weekends and Holidays???!!! whats the point of that:...
Easy walking distance from all areas of interest .

“Surashing”

I look from the review of this website and then try.. It's really superb even the price is quite high (140Euro+tax5%) but u will get more than u expect. The room is really large with 2 big bed , sofa and also a kitchen section!!!.. The bathroom is spacious.The amenities are marvellous.. I like bath and shampoo gel.-orange and green color. The smell and quality are great. U also get free tea and coffee as well as some mint candy. The location of the hotel is excellent...Metro station is just in front of the hotel ..no more than 40 steps from the hotel and Avenida station is quite close to other areas of Lisbon.. The other good thing is breakfast...juicy fruit - kiwi,strawberry,oranges, ham, cheese as well as - can't miss - pateis de natas are all included in the breakfast ...... you can also enjoy the modern decoration of this restaurant.. (breakfast is included in the hotel's room price)..what else I can say... I definitely stay in this hotel again..

“Standard Hotel”

I can only describe this hotel by saying that it provides the basics. The bed is clean enough, the bathroom is clean enough, and the staff is friendly enough. But there is nothing special about this place. I wouldn't stay here again.
The carpets seriously need a good steaming.

The NH Liberdade in is a good place to stay if you want to visit Lisbon, we had a great room with a nice view on the city.
The Hotel and the rooms are clean. the rate might be a bit expensive, but compared to other hotels of this category is is a very valuable money/quality option.
