“Very expensive (if you don't get a good deal!)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is quite an expensive hotel but luckily we managed to get a good deal on laterooms.com. We paid €114 for one night. We were on the 18th floor (top floor) so had a good view. We were really looking forward to using the pool and sauna, and the receptionist told us that we could use the health club across the road (Clube iv), after we had checked in, we packed our swin bag and took the uphill 10 minute walk up to the health club. At the club, they told we would have to pay €15 each to use the facility, which we thought was a bit expensive. The hotel should really inform you of the financial implications of using the club. The rooms are well finished and very comfortable. Great bathroom with lovely products. The mini bar was the best I have every seen, but unless you are absolutely rolling in money, you wont be buying anything - about €15 for ONE measure of spirit. We ate in the bar, this was OK. Regretted not eating in the restaurant as I think this was better value. The have a €30 fixed price menu. This is a lovely hotel, about a 15-20 min walk from the main centre. We enjoyed our stay, but probably wouldn't go back - it was a bit too upper class for us!!

Its a hard call for this place. I got one of those non-refundable rooms oct 28 thru oct 31 264 euro = 334$. Great price for a good room. Room 718 The whole interioir is covered with marble or leather. Even in the elevator. Somebody is always cleaning something everytime I leave my room. Its a beautiful hotel. Except... The shower has a big rainfall faucet on it and I went to adjust it and grabbed on the top, it was filthy and some of the furniture hadn`t been dusted for quite awhile. One night I drank one of the mini-bars small Coke and a very small can of pringles like "complimentary size". When I was leaving to checkout I thought to myself 7 euro max for both, The girl at the desk said "15.40 euro" I almost fell off the floor. I said how can you say that with a straight face" That is outrageous! Rum and coke in the bar 10.50e, breakfast 25euro "american style" . the thing is your stuck here, nothing close by, no restaurants stores , cafes, nothing., MDonalds 10 minute walk downhill and the worse part is coming back up again.
Pros = Good comfortable room with a great price, free high speed internet, didnt have to pay for our small dog, Great staff, very helpful. Quiet rooms. Mostly uper clean.
Cons = Lousy location, OVER-PRICED (except for room cost).
Taxi cost to main square 3.50E one way. Breakfast 25euro at hotel... Would I stay here again? No, The hotel gives you a great price to lure you in, but you need a bank loan to eat there...

Room Tip: Probably all of them

My wife and I stayed October 12 to15TH and then again on the 19th. The rooms are great and the service went beyond. My wife had fractured her foot the day we left Ottawa. At the Hotel they were able to provide a wheel chair without charge. The Hotel is located a little out of the action ( Old Town) but cabs are very reasonable.

when the taxi pulled up at the entrance and the doorman opened the door for me and got my luggage out of the boot i knew i was at a good hotel.
i checked in and was allocated a room on the 15th floor, when i got up there the curtains were open as it was still day light the view was brilliant right across the city to the sea also a bridge what i can only describe as a smaller version of the san fransisco golden gate bridge also near to the bridge a large statue of christ with his arms outstreatched.
The room was pure class and large.A king size bed with 4 verysoft pillows a quilt and all in egyptian cotton 2 bedside table lamps, also 2 reading lights what swivel from the wall lovely decor 4 pictures hanging from the walls.A sony sound system mini bar with soft drinks, beer and champagne then in the cupboard next to the mini bar was 4 half bottles of spirits 4 bottles of port and 18 yes 18 assorted minatures and other confectionary.back to the room there was a comfertable chair with foot stool a writing desk and chair oh and a drinks table a vase with flowers
abserloutly brilliant.Bathroom high class toileteries, his and hers sinks, toilet bidet a drentcher shower heat also a shower heat on a flexi hose, huge bath sheets hand towels bathrobe and slippers, not forgetting air con, i'll say it again brilliant.creamish coloured carpet with not a speck of dirt on it.

Room Tip: the higher you are the better the view

The location is across from Parque Eduardo VII on a hill with views of the city. It is a 6-8 Euro cab ride to most restaurants and sights. The staff, on the most part, are helpful. The buffet breakfast is pretty good as is the buffet dinner. The rooms are beautifully and simply decorated. It is right next door to the Ritz Four Seasons which is helpful if the cab driver doesn't know the hotel location.

A modern city centre hotel, reception were friendly and helpful, the hotel is smart & comfortable, the rooms were a reasonable size with a well appointed bathroom & queen size bed.. The mini bar was one of the best stocked I have ever seen , but as usual it is better value to go to the bar.I don't usually eat in city hotel restaurants, unless they are renowned, but by the time we had unpacked it was 8pm and as we were too tired to start looking elsewhere, we decided to give it a try. There is a self service buffet, which made us apprehensive, however they also serve a la carte and three menus, (€26 for their menu of the day, 3 courses including a glass of wine), we chose their taster menu ( amuse de bouche plus 4 courses and a glass of sparkling to start & a glass of wine with each course €49) the menu was based on traditional Portuguese dishes with a flavour from their former colonies, it was very good, service was excellent with the waiter explaining each course and the wine, overall we were pleasantly surprised and ate the same menu again on our last night. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice, we had breakfast included with our room price and whilst it stated continental, it appeared that you could choose from the hot buffet without any extra charge. the bar meals were also very good if you only wanted a light snack. the hotel is in a good location, about 15-20 minutes walk to the centre of the city, there was a taxi rank outside of the hotel, cost about €5 to the centre €10 to the airport, although it cost us €18 from the airport when we arrived? The hotel is only about 5 minutes walk from the tourist bus station, if you cut through the park opposite the hotel. We would definitely use this hotel again on any return visit & by the way Lisbon is worth a visit, lovely city, quite clean and don't worry about the language as most people seem to be able to speak English and were very friendly.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days and had a nice room. Especially the bathroom is excellent, great rain shower with good pressure and hot water. Lots of amenities. The minibar is a tad on the expensive side, and so is the breakfast by portuguese standards, but boy what a nice buffet assortment.

The location is quiet and a bit out of the old city but close to the subway which gets you to where you need to be in no time. A taxi ride to the center also only cost about 5 euros.

We've enjoyed staying in this hotel very much and would certainly come back.
