nice hotel but it needs an upgrade. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very annoying the internet facilities, still not getting what business case is the one you charge 20 EUR for having internet connection in your room while in budget hostels you have it for free. Breakfast was average and nothing to remember.

If i come back to Lisboa I will try another hotel. It was ok but it is missing the extra to conquer me.

The hotel is not in downtown, but it is in between dowtonw and the airpot so it is a very good location for transit.
Very nice rooms and beds, meals were good, but they do not serve early breakfast, which is a minus.
Very good services, especially the concierges

Just got home from a cruise that started in Lisbon, Portugal and couldn't wait to write a review on the Lisbon Marriott Hotel.

It was great way to start a trip. The hotel was well situated with respect to both the airport and the cruise port. A fifteen minute cab ride to either, as well as to the downtown area(depending on the traffic). The rooms were large, bright and spotless as were all their public areas. As nice as the hotel itself was the staff exceeded it by far with their friendliness, helpfulness and their willingness to do anything possible to make your stay a pleasant one. I can't say enough good things about them.

The extra expense of a "Club Room" was MORE than made up with the breakfast each morning. Fantastic!! Then there was the "Happy Hour"(actually 2 hours) with complimentary food and drinks. You could get by without having to go out for dinner, though going out for dinner in Lisbon is an experience not to miss.

Room Tip: Try and get an upgrade to a club floor room.

Stayed here for a week in July, and whilst it still have some of its former grandeur, it is tired, the staff is tired and the food is tired. The zoo is in walking distance, but not much else, so expect to spend 15 Euro a day getting to town and back. Normally any hotel that charges for wi-fi in 2014 deserves one star rating, but given that it was free in the lobby, and it was a holiday, I broke the rule and gave them 3.

However, it's still a Marriott, and at times you'll find a highlight, such as the excellent concierge, and a smiling barman in the lobby bar. Reception varied from pleasant to outright rude, and the only item we saw change on the breakast buffet during the week we stayed was the potatoes (mash, fried, pan fried).
Someone had put their dirty dishes outside in the hallway where our room was, and it took staff 3 days to clean it. We struggled ordering a pizza from the restaurant to the lobby bar, and had to actually get a hold of the duty manager to get it done- not the service I'm used to from other Marriot hotels.
All said, we got a very reasonable price, so the value for money was good.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool side is quieter than those facing the road.

The hotel itself is fine. Our room was a decent size and the dinner buffet was surprisingly good. However, the location is not great since it is far from the downtown area. If you are going to Lisbon and want to do sightseeing and walk around the downtown area, there are better places to stay.

Good rooms and services, the staff are extremely friendly, I stayed for 10 nights in two different rooms. Very crowded hotel specially on business days. Free internet only in the lobby which is not good at all. any extras are very expensive. the location of the hotel is not good at all.

Room Tip: In windy times I advice not to take the high floors rooms as windows are not closed very well, so yo...
