“A little out of the centre, but all the better for it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

I'm not a great fan of the Holiday Inn chain, but this is one of their better operations. It's situated a short way out of the center of the city, but is easily accessible from the airport and only a short metro ride or 30 minute walk from the tourist center. It's very conveniently situated for the Instituto Superior Tecnico, which has an entrance right across the street. There's a good continental buffet with Portuguese specialities, although the coffee is very disappointing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (at least mine was - they do vary) with a good range of toiletries provided. The bar is relatively small but has an interesting choice of beers, wines and ports as well as cocktails. Staff were generally helpful.

Ideal jumping off point for exploring the city (good metro links to old city, close to out-of-centre attractions like the bull ring) and the roof top pool was a g-d-send after a long day of walking and exploring. A few small grocery stores close by if you want to stock some food for breakfasts. Only complaint was out noisy neighbors who would come in at 3am but not hotel's fault. Would recommend to a first-time visitor or family. Also, sometimes pool looked suspiciously 'green'...

Maybe I am naïve but with a title of Holiday Inn I was expecting at least the basics to be by American standards. NO! They nickel and dime you for everything. No continental breakfast, they charge you 14.50 euros (about $20) per person. No free Wi-Fi, they charge you 6 euros per day. No free parking, they charge you 14 euros per day. In the lobby they have a scale so you can weigh your suitcase before you travel. They charge you 1 euro for each suitcase you want to weigh. We had seen on their website before we booked the room, that they had a lovely roof top patio with a view of Lisbon and pool, which we were looking forward to using. When we went up at 9 pm, everything was already closed and locked (on a Friday night). Big disappointment. Isn't city lights part of the evening fun in Lisbon? Other than that the rooms where nice and clean, comfortable beds.

Room Tip: A short walk from the hotel you will find a great Brazilian restaurant Costelao Caucho. We had a won...

Dear Mrs DaneinOregon,

Thank you for bring such comment to our attention.

We can inform that the Gym and pool has an open and close hours and for security reasons is closed during the night.

The breakfast has a cost, but the client can book room with breakfast or without, that won't cost you the same price.

The other mentioned services there are costs involved that normally request payments for his use

We stayed in the hotel a week, traveling around Lisbon. We booked a room for 4, which means 2 double beds that can sleep 4. The room is bit small for 4 people, like having inky 2 chairs and generally being setup with cups and bathroom supplies forb2 but it was fine. The hotel has a paid underground parking which was very convenient (one of the reasons we picked it),costs according toast, max 14€ per 24 hours. Breakfast (not included but we took it) was very good. The hotel is not in the city center but there are a lot of restaurants around it and the metro isn't far. All in all, we enjoyed the stay.

We booked this hotel at the last minute for an overnight stay and it was really nice. Good value deal, accessible to the airport, helpful staff, big beds. It was a pleasant 30 minute walk into the heart of the city. Secure underground parking as we had a hire car.

Hotel about 15 minute metro journey from city centre, 7Euro in taxi. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. Our room was on 6th floor, window can be fully opened (there is a safety chain that can be removed) so not good if you have wondering children. Very small pool on roof. No pool side bar, had to wait 20 minutes for 2small bottles of water plus a can of coke to be brought up and was charged 10euro 50 cent bottle of same water was 20cent in shop next door.

This hotel is great in all aspects minus the location. The location is a bit out of this centre of town and you have to get two metro trams in. While it is easy, it takes a little bit of time.

The room was spacious and cleaned everyday. And the staff were very helpful

We did not have breakfast included so I can not comment on that however it does cost €13.50pp.

We have stayed in other holiday inns which have had wifi included. This hotel does not have wifi included which is a bit ridiculous and you need wifi these days with everything and not having it just makes your trip a little harder. You can pay €5 a day but I still think that is steep when you add up how many days your there. I think it should be free.

Overall I would stay here again
