“Central location, nice staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Good three stars hotel in central location in Lisbon. Few steps from Pombal and beautiful gardens and not too far from city center (20-30 min walk or few minutes with metro). Sana is modern and clean, their staff are very kind and friendly. Our room was a little bit too small and rather dark (small window) but cosy and enough for short stay. Clenlines was good. Brekfast buffet was O.K.

Sana Capitol hotel is in a semi-central location, just a couple of 100 meters from the Marquês de Pombal Square, but still in a quiet side street. If you are planning to take a trip with one of the hop-on-hop-off buses, this is the square where they start their journey. Within walking distance, there is also the large department shop "El corte Ingles", a metro station and a good range of restaurants.

The hotel itself is kind of a stylish design hotel with a large reception/lobby where there also is a relaxing bar where you can grab a drink or a sandwich. The staff is nice and makes you feel welcome. Also, their grasp of the english language is good.

Our room was "smallish", but very clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning worked like a charm. Beds were on the hard side and our double-bed was smaller than we had expected, but that didn't bother us.

We stayed on the 5th floor and apparently the windows on floor 5 and 6 have larger windows which meant that our room wasn't as dark as other reviewers have pointed out.

The breakfast is good and fresh, although maybe a bit uninspired in some of the choices sometimes (especialy in terms of hot food). The room where it is served is not very large so be prepared to wait a while for a seat if you arrive during "breakfast rush".

Room Tip: Rooms on floor 5 and 6 have larger windows which means they are not as dark as other rooms.

The hotel is located near the city centre but not right in it. It's about a 20 minute walk to the centre. The hop on/off bus stop is just 5 minutes away, making it very convenient to get on one to tour the city.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, with good command of English. The hotel is kept very clean and tidy. Breakfast is adequate, considering it;s included in the inexpensive hotel charge. The lobby bar is small but cozy. The guest rooms are not that big, but that's not unexpected in Europe.

There are quite a few decent restaurants at the back of the hotel. Most of them are owned and managed by Portugese if you are into some genuine Portugese food. Prices are quite reasonable, too.

Compared to its sister hotel Sana Lisboa across the street, this hotel will be more suited for budget traveller, although I would not mind paying the additional 20 Euro to stay at the Sana Lisboa for an upgraded treatment and enjoyment.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor. Noise in the lobby bar on a busy night can be easily heard from ro...

It has small rooms with a small bed. The fixtures are modern and the shower is good. It is a 20 minute walk to the Rossio area that has many restaurants. It is close to the metro and also the sight seeing tour buses stops. Staff are nice, the breakfast is plentiful but quality is poor enough in terms of hot foods. Decent choice if you are on a bit of a budget. Can walk to the sea from there also. If you like to shop there are many designer shops close to the hotel.

Small, modern and clean hotel, not far from the city center. Friendly staff and really good breakfast!! The only negative thing about this hotel, is the awkward smell in the corridors... The beds were a little bit hard, but I slept like a baby anyway after strollling the streets of Lisboa for several days!!

This hotel is small, modern, well located in a small (and quiet) street nearby Marquês de Pombal metro station.
Room was clean, quiet enough, with 2 confy and clean beds.
Nice tv with wide selection of channels.
Wifi was included.
Buffet breakfast was very good, with fresh and good quality products, served in a maybe not big enough room.
Very very friendly and helpfull staff.
The only drawback for me was the smell in the bathroom, probably from the plumbing. Fortunately, the bathroom door was thick enough to prevent the smell to invade the bedroom, when it was closed, but anytime I used the bathroom I felt bad.
Anyway, this hotel is a very good option in Lisbon.

Stayed for 5 nights in April and we were very satisfied with the hotel. Top location, near the Marquise Pombal square, 20 min walking to most of the major attractions. The room was not very large, but confortable with all the necessary amenities.
