“Great hotel poor area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

The hotel is situated in a rather scruffy residential area, that said it is right next to a Metro station and only 10 minutes from either the airport or the centre of Lisbon.
The hotel is a large well appointed hotel more suited for the business traveller.
The staff are friendly and efficient and check in was speedy and well handled, our 10th floor superior room was clean and well furnished and had a view across to the river. The bed was a very comfortable queen size and there was a full sized bath in the clean and well appointed bathroom.
Breakfast is served in the large dining area and was of good quality, variety and plentiful.
Overall we had a very nice stay

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. We really had very few problems here and enjoyed our stay mostly.

New-ish hotel, quick elevators, spacious rooms. Nice lounge in the lobby. Location is not bad, but during our stay it rained, so we didn't explore the area. There's a mall right next door on one side, but there's not much there, except an entrance to the metro. On the other side there are a couple of small restaurants that appear to cater to the lunch crowd.

The room was well fitted and tidy. The view from our room was the back alley, but it didn't matter much. The front of the hotel has a wonderful view down the hill toward the river, but that's probably not what you'll be doing in Lisbon. Staff were helpful and spoke english well. There's a souvenir shop in the lobby.

We didn't eat dinner here, but the breakfast was acceptable. Overall, it's a nice place to stay, and not really far from town, but not close either.

Room Tip: If you care about the view, there's none at the back of the hotel

We stayed at the Altis Park hotel during a weekend visit to Lisbon last weekend. The hotel and the staff were fantastic. When we arrived the reception manager took our details and offered us an upgrade to one of their executive rooms on the 15th floor. As we only had hand luggage they showed us to our room with a great view over to the Delta. The bed was a large king size and very comfortable with a flat screen tv at the end of the bed. The bathroom was a nice size with a large bath with a good shower at one end. The sink was all marble and the bathroom was very clean as was the room. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and always very helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a good size buffet both hot and cold and there was fresh fruit. The location of the hotel is 5 minutes by taxi from the airport and 10 minutes to downtown Lisbon. It costs €8 to get to the main squares and in general taxis are very good value making this an ideal place to stay. We would recommend the hotel to anyone who wanted a good quality hotel with friendly staff.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Just returned from 3 nights in Altis Park. I had a great welcome by very friendly staff. The room was real nice and it came with a reasonable view. (I could see the sea in the distance). The room was smart, clean and in good order, as was the bathroom. There was free wi-fi not only in reception but into my room too (408) which is a nice benefit. Also, the safe was free - unlucky some other hotels who charge.

The breakfast was OK, not amazing and on two days they had run out of coffee / scrambled egg - but it was a real busy time as there was a large event taking place which I was attending (the hotel was full).

All in all I would definitely go back there and I would recommend.

Gripe: My only gripe is that I was unable to relax in the bar with my friends as they allowed smoking inside and it got really smokey in there. I would rather not sit in such an environment so made my excuses and went back to my room. Maybe all hotels in Lisbon are like this? I don't know but for me this was very unpleasant. This was the only downside I experienced with this hotel.

ps. Metro is right outside and only 6 stops and a few euro to get to/from the airport if you are on a budget. Otherwise 10 euro.

For a terrific price, you get an immaculate room with a fabulous view over the river, right outside a metro stop. The area is not interesting in itself, but if you are arriving in Lisbon by train, you can go direct from Oriente station to Olaias Metro in less than 10m and the hotel is right outside. After checking in you can then go to the centre by metro in next to no time. The next day, when you want to go to the airport, the metro line takes you straight there in 10m. There are loads of TV channels in several languages if you just want to chill out in the room, the shower is good (maybe a high step out of the bath for some infirm people), service polite and willing. If you want charming city-centre experience (usually with cramped rooms) this isn't for you. If you're just passing through, it is, and also if you are happy whizzing around on the metro.

Room Tip: High up facing the river you get a super view.

The hotel's stuff is very pleasant and helpful. The rooms and the location are good.
The only problem, but not a pleasant one is the breakfast buffet. I stayed in the hotel for 5 days and the food was the same all the time. The " juices " are awful - just water with a bad flavor.
I talked to the chief and he confirmed that the food is always the same.
After I mentioned that the quality and variety of food are for the 3 stars hotel at the most, the next day they changed location of the plates on the table ( at least a start :-), however the food stayed the same.
Today the corn and one type of cheese were spoiled ...
If the hotel want to keep their clients they need to deal with the quality and variety of their breakfast and bring it to the level of other services in the hotel, which are good.

Must say that service is wellcomming and always helpfull but the area and the hotel are not to be recomended if stayin in Lisbon. Far from any interesting site and ugly surroundings
Rooms look worn out same as bathrooms that need manteinance, The restaurant is serves bad food so if you stay, better eat a sandwich at the bar.
