“A mistake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Restaurant next door was closed for 1st May so we took a chance on this one. we were served by a very friendly Cape Verdian. The owner scowled in the background but maybe he was having a bad day. Food was mediocre and expensive. We were charged €8.50 for a starter we didn't order. Main prawns were good but fluffy cod tasteless. Avoid and go next door.

“Open Sunday - nice food at reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

It was difficult to find a restaurant to go to on a Sunday night and we came across this one. The decor looked a bit dated but the staff were welcoming and the food basic but good.

“Average food average price, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

My wife, baby and I came across this restaurant when I had to pull over because my kid had enough of the car ride. We were the first customers there and the English speaking waiter had not arrived. However, we were greeted and given menus. They also brought out bread, 2 cheese dishes and a charcuterie plate. Of course they didn't explain that it all costs money if you eat it, but we were starving and assumed you would be charged because nobody gives prosciutto for free.

We ordered the cataplana of fish, shrimp, and clams. This was a bit salty, but it appears from our experience dishes are saltier than we are used to. The second dish was the roasted kid goat. It came with veggies, potatoes, and rice. This was a better option and the meat was quite tender. Top off our meal with a large sangria, no complaints. Total for everything including the stuff we didn't order but ate anyway, 56 euros. Not a bad price for a very full meal and 1 block away from avenue Liberdade.

“Reasonable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We stumbled upon this restaurant in a pouring rain. The atmosphere was rather calm in mid week. The food was good: my wife enjoyed the grilled sardines, and my codfish was alright. Dessert was not that good: the bolo de bolacha (biscuit cake) tasted rather stale, as if very old biscuits had been reclyced into it.

“Avoid this one.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Avoid this restaurant. Lisbon is full of excellent places to eat, but this isn't one of them.

We ate here on our first night in Lisbon because it was close to our hotel and the prices in the window looked reasonable. However it wasn't a pleasant experience; my steak was stone cold, tough as old leather, and badly cooked.

But the worst thing about this restaurant is that they use a scam to rip off tourists: They kept bringing small dishes we hadn't ordered "for us to try". These little extras added an incredible 19.30 euros to the bill. Almost as much as the meal itself.
