“Excellent bar with authentic local Fado!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

We did not eat here but rather went for the music and a drink. It is an excellent place to hear some authentic Fado - it's all local amateur musicians and singers providing excellent entertainment. An excellent place to go to finish off an evening with a few drinks

“Great place for taste the Portugal culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

In the hostel that I stayed, the lobby girl recommended this place because I will see really authentic fado and not is a turistic place. In the turistic Fado places they charge you for the show, for the food and are focus on tourim not in local. This place is perfect because is really local. You seat with local people, so you feel like that. Is really small place, but I love it. You dont need to paid for the show, only for the food that you will eat. The Fado show is amazing, I don't understand anything that they sing because is in portuguese, but you feel in your heart the sentiment of the singer. The food is ok, is like tapas place, you will not get there plates for eat. The show are like 30 minutes. The dynamic is like this: when fado show finished the people in the place go out and enter another new one. This people take a seat and order the tapas. When everyone have already with their orders, they start to do the show. When the show finish new people enter for see the show.

“the real deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

I'd like to tell you don't go there so there would be fewer visitors when i return - so it's the real deal a pub/bar/cafe (maybe) - elemental with good to fair fadistas but it feels authentic, friendly, and fun, and the fadistas are serious about what they are doing. Yes it is full of tourists but there are no gimmicks - just good music delivered sincerely. Didn't eat, but the wine was good and the music and crowd were having a great time.

“Great fado in a seemingly authentic environment.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Can't talk about the food or drink as we were standing at the back so didn't indulge but the whole place had a great atmosphere with some amazing fado singers and musicians. Get here before 9:30 in Winter to grab a table!
