Description: The restaurant HA PITEU chose his name according to the concept that proposes. Located in the heart of Bairro Alto is a small space with traditional decor. The peaceful setting and the soft light turn on in a romantic restaurant, suitable for more intimate moments. It is attended by guests from many sources such as Alfacinhas and tourists to the mix. From midnight, there are people who come to share a roast chorizo dish, accompanied by a glass of wine or drink a sangria. Inspired by the cuisine of all Portuguese regions, the menu HA PITEU presents "SNACKS"/"TAPAS": as crispy potato skins, fried cod, fish of Horta, the cuttlefish Portuguese, roasted chorizo, ham Tiborna or cod, beans stew with sausages among other delicacies. There are also more elaborate dishes like octopus "Lagareiro", baked cod, grilled sardines, Beans with ribs and sausages, black pork secret with migas, Naco in stone with chips or veggie lasagna. For dessert, there delights as chocolate mousse and sericaia or crepe with ice cream vanilla, among others. To follow, stemmed wine from north to south of Portugal. This restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, but on Fridays, Saturdays and eve of public holidays is open until at 3:00 am (the kitchen closes at 01:00). OPen: 25 December OPen: Reveillon - "Special Menu"

“Good one”

We stumbled upon this small place in Bairro Alto by chance and discovered great atmosphere, excellent service and good food. Waitress really tried very hard to make us feel welcome and she succeeded. We even stayed after the closing, sipping fine porto wine with staff and their friends. Unpretencious, friendly, worth visiting.

“Quality and tasty food with simpathy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

At the heart of Bairro Alto, this restaurant is probably the most pleasant place to start the night in Lisbon. The atmosphere is informal and romantic, and the owner has an irrepressible attention to details as well as a contagious sympathy. Her help in choosing the wine was precious.
The entire menu is inviting ... and the flavour of the dishes we chose did not disappoint. The chocolate fondue ended with excellency the meal, leaving us with this, almost uncontrollable, desire to return the next day.

“A hit: Small in space, huge in hospitality! :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

Discovering "Lume Brando" during our trip to Lisbon turned out to be a stroke of luck. The charming little restaurant in the popular Bairro Alto area instantly grew on us due to it´s delicious Portuguese cuisine (we recommend the "hunk of beef on the hot stone" with three sauces - yummy!), friendly service and open-minded attitude. Out of seven evenings we spent three at "Lume" and in spite of the Bairro Alto-typical buzz there this restaurant and it´s warm-hearted staff made us feel so much at home that we celebrated the romantic occasion of our engagement here! "Obrigado" and will be back!

“Another Bairro Alto trap”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Avoid Bairro Alto restaurants unless you get specific recomendation. As a touristic area lots of restaurants open only for tourists. There are much better places in Lisbon. This restaurant offers low quality food and high prices.
