This tour bills itself as taking you off the beaten tourist trail into more local and lesser known areas and it certainly does. It was absolutely wonderful!
I led a group of 13 university students from London and we were taken on our tour by Martha, who I cannot say enough good things about. She was intelligent, energetic (but not irritatingly so) and a real pleasure to spend half a day with. As well as being informative about Lisbon on the planned tour (it's her own city) she answered every one of my questions and those of my students with ease and clarity.
It's a tasting tour so we got to try a large number or local dishes at very local favourites that are so tucked away you'd never find them yourself. Everything from coffee and pastries to a seafood lunch - ALL INCLUDED IN THE TOUR COST. There was even a ferry ride across the river and back just to get our lunch! Honestly this trip cost virtually nothing per head and was so good I'd probably take it again just to spend the day with good people and to get to chat with Martha again. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.
As a sidenote, I'm allergic to seafood and the restaurant we went to very kindly catered to my needs with extra non-fishy dishes. Also at no extra charge. You cannot lose on this trip. I promise.
