My wife, ten year old son and I just returned from six nights at the Lisboa Plaza. Although I believe previous reviewers captured the essentials of the hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised by the courteous and professional staff who treated us like guests in their home. Dinner recommendations, football game suggestions, private tours, airport transfers were all handled professionally and with a welcome attitude. Our daily return to the hotel was greeted with a friendly greeting.

This a a wonderful hotel managed to a high standard. This is not an impersonal urban chain hotel and will not satisfy those looking for a "packaged" experience. As mentioned by others, the beds are firm and we had twins rather than our preferred king but our triple room was a wonderful base for exploring Lisbon. We were on the sixth floor facing the rear of the property although the hotel is located on a side street and I doubt noise is an issue even in the front. Housekeeping was excellent. The location was perfect in our view (an easy walk to many attractions and shopping) and we were glad that we chose the friendly welcome of this property over larger and more impersonal choices nearby.

We toured in the surrounding towns for two days with a guide arranged by the hotel. Bruno of Driving Tours was a wonderful source for understanding the places and people of Portugal. His degree in History, excellent english language skills and eager assistance complemented the hotel's personal approach. We would highly recommend him.

We used the hop on hop off bus, rode the famous tram number 28 and visited most of the sites. Cabs were cheap and plentiful. A Benfica football game was a real highlight and the shopping centre adjacent to the stadium is superior to most any in the world.

A very good experience

This hotel is in a good location, on a quiet street just off Liberdade and very convenient for the metro. Our room was pleasant but would have benefited from better internal soundproofing. On our arrival there was only soap provided in the bathroom so we left a note requesting, showercap, shampoo and bubblebath/shower gel which the maid then provided next day and thereafter but we did feel we should not have to ask.
Breakfast was fine, husband enjoyed the superb cake selection.
Reception staff were pleasant and well informed.
We felt the hotel was fine but not exceptional.

Very nice hotel with a central location. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke english. There was a great breakfast included in the price and no additional charge for parking. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel is in a good location, tucked behind Av. Liberdade. Breakfast is good and it has a nice bar area. The room we got was small and the bathroom needed a face lift, but the location made up for these things. By US standards this would be a 3 star hotel.
