“An engineering feat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Just a look at the bridge and how long it is and you realise what a marvel engineering can be. When you walk along the sea front and are stood close to the bridge and yet you cant see where it ends on the other side you realise how long it is.

“Be careful when driving on the metal grates”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

The Vasco da Gama bridge is very striking and looks uncannily like San Francisco's Golden Gate. We crossed it twice en route to and from the Algarve,

Part of the bridge deck is asphalt and part metal grate. The grate is extremely noisy to drive on and we were told it is very slippery when wet. There are no pedestrian or bike lanes on the bridge, which is too bad,

“Golden Gate of Lisbon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

The bridge is best viewed from the distance. I crossed it by bus and you have good views of the city from there and also the statue of Jesus on the hill looking over the city.

“Absolutely Amazing.”

This bridge is beautiful and so long. An architectural feat, which gives you amazing views of Lisbon as you pass over it. Wonderful to drive on.
