Despite it being on the expensive side , the hotel earns all of its stars. The concierge was more helpful than ANY other hotel I have ever stayed in. Restaurnats off premises can't do enough to please LAPA guests.. The only drawback is its location. It is far from anything of interest. THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE WITHOUT GETTING INTO A TAXI. Breakfast at 65 dollars for two is inexcusable...Otherwise ....Highly recommended. I would go back.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel! We had two rooms and both were grand and spacious, bathrooms were elegant, roomy and stocked with toiletries and thick towels. The setting was spectacular. Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. We would heartly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel (read all the other reviews) but (a) not a great location--you definitely need a taxi anywhere you go but since most destinations including the centre of town are only 3.50 euros, it's not a hardship (the one exception is the Museum of Antiquities which is only a 5-min stroll away); but (b) internet access should be free. The fact that they charged per 24 hrs. for in-room service seemed unnecessary given the high daily room charge. Would definitely stay here again albeit aware of the drawbacks. By the way, excellent security given it's in the heart of the embassy district.

Added bonus: their wine-by-the-glass list in the bar is excellent and a very useful way to get to know good quality Portugese wines.

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the New Year's holiday. Excellent location and service. Highly recommended. They are free to use our phrase about living in the "Lapa Luxury."
